I went to the Century Square outlet on 17/4/16 at about 1:15-1:20pm.

Tried to pay for my drinks with some brunei dollars and the staff said that 'we don't accept Brunei Dollars'

I thought the Monetary Authority of Singapore state that 'businesses can safely accept Brunei currency for payment'?

Please educate all your staffs who do cashiering about this.

my sister's car was stolen today (Tues, 19 April 2016) from the carpark near a shop located at No. 149, Eunos Ave 5.

She had parked it around 9.30am but it was only when she returned for her car at 6.30pm that she realised the car was gone.

The car model is a SILVER HONDA CRV with the LICENSE PLATE NO. SJF8956P.

Please inform us asap if you see this car or have any information regarding the incident.

My sister has lodged a police report.

We need your help to please spread this message online.

We hope that we will get the car back!

If u are agitated or angered by the picture of the youth who showed his middle finger to the Quran n mocked Muslim prayers, remember the story of a man who tugged Prophet Muhammad's (Peace Be Upon Him) shirt..

The Prophet once took a loan from a Jew in order to help a group of villagers who were in financial difficulty..A few days BEFORE the promised date of settlement, the Jew came to the Prophet while he was with his companions. When the Jew got close to the Prophet, he tugged the Prophet's shirt holding him by the neck and shouted in the Prophet's face "I didnt know from amongst the family of Banu Abdul Muttalib are those who would delay their repayment of loans!"

Saidina Umar stood up and was about to beat up the Jew when Prophet Muhammad stopped and said "We do not need this from you O Umar. In fact I need you to counsel me to repay the loan in a good way n for u to advise him to claim his loan to me in a gracious manner! Attention to all vietnamese ladies:

My sister gets to know this guy thought wechat. They had spoken to each other many times, he mentioned that he is a Singaporean at the age of 40 years old and he searching for a wife, and if both felt right for each other then he will marry immediately.

After 2 months of talking to each other, he decided to go to vietnam and visit her. He stayed in the hotel for 20 days and the cost of the hotel was 400.000Vnd per day. During the time he was staying in Vietnam, he said that he have to save money to buy house for marriage and most of the times when going out with my sister, she had to paid for the food and everything else.

I tried to prevent my sister from doing all these but she said that they are going to marry soon anyway, thus who pay also doesn't matter. After 20 days when he was preparing to go back to Singapore, he pretended to go to the bank and draw money and of course, he said that the money can't be drawn, then he asked my sister to help him to pay for the hotel and many other stuffs he had bought for bringing it back to Singapore, which he wanted to give to his friends and family in Singapore. He promised that he will return the money when he is back in Singapore, but after he got back Singapore, he blocked all her contact and deleted all the photos they took together.

After she told me all the story, I used my facebook account to searched for him, to my shock, I saw photos of him with other girl, which was exactly the same he did to my sister previously.

Prior to meeting each other, he always asked my sister to sent him photos of herself and posted it on facebook and viber saying that she is his love.

Money lost is not the issue, but currently my sister is pregnant with his baby and it's about 2 weeks. Now she is very worried and shocked, she is crying everyday. She thought that she had already found the love of her life and it turned out it was hell. He is now doing the same to other girls.

Please help me to share and prevent other ladies from being cheated by this guy.

I went through ten drain sump n all ten r choked.

The viaduct is over a km long n during heavy rain water couldn't get drained off swift enough causing vehicles to run over pools of water n splashing to opposite carriageway n probably down to road users below.

Authorities must hv overlooked these maintainance."

Dear A.S.S,

Arrived back at Changi Airport terminal 2 (SilkAir) and was waiting at the aerobridge for my pram.

To my horror, i see the staff dragging the item from where the cargo hold of the plane is all the way across the tarmac, all the way to where the aerobridge steps was.

*I understand minor scratches during handling is completely normal but to damage a brand new item is unacceptable.

Needless to say, it completely damaged the plastic, damaged the pram protector bag, damaged the base of the pram.

When i asked the staff why he did it, he just shrugged and say I don't know I don't know.

Wow, world class airport with such service. Great job Singapore Changi Airport.

Best of all, the airport refuses to compensate(even when we saw with our own eyes that it was the ground staff's handling fault) and advised us to seek compensation from the Airline instead.

I gained experience as a police officer today and you might have been a bit surprised seeing me patrol the Nee Soon area together with officers from the Yishun North NPC Community Policing Unit!

And yes police officers do wear shorts now (again actually as long ago they all wore shorts)! Not many people know about the Community Policing Unit who conduct foot and bicycle patrols to build closer relationships with community stakeholders.

I decided to join them today to learn more about their work, experience it first-hand and also personally show them appreciation for all that they do for us. Started at 7.30am and we engaged stall owners in Nee Soon, spoke to preschoolers, engaged foreign workers at their dormitory, did a roadshow at the Yishun Bus Interchange and patrolled Northpoint. It was a hectic day and I'm very glad I gained this experience.

Singapore is one of the safest cities in the world to live in, largely because of our dedicated and passionate Home Team officers. They put their lives on the line to protect us and every day they put their heart and soul into keeping Singapore safe. I'm extremely honoured to be part of this team and am proud of their work.

Thank you especially to SSSGT Clarence and SSGT Khairul for teaching me so much today and showing me the amazing work you do. My heartfelt thanks also to all Home Team Officers for being our guardians.

Time for some food and honestly, my butt hurts from all that cycling :P

The FDA announced today that its District Offices may detain, without physical examination, imports of shrimp and prawns from peninsular Malaysia due to testing that found that approximately one-third of imports from peninsular Malaysia contained residues of nitrofurans and/or chloramphenicol.

FDA testing in fiscal year 2015 has shown an increase in shipments of Malaysian shrimp and prawns containing residues of nitrofurans and chloramphenicol. Shrimp or prawns that contain residues of nitrofurans or chloramphenicol are adulterated and not permitted in United States commerce.

In the past, the FDA has taken steps to prevent companies with violative shipments from continuing to import shrimp and prawns containing nitrofuran and chloramphenicol residues by placing them on existing Import Alerts. This means that the companies’ future shipments may be detained without physical examination at the port of entry and the importer may submit evidence, such as test results from a private laboratory, demonstrating that the products are free of nitrofuran and chloramphenicol residues. The agency has requested that the Malaysian government investigate the cause of the residue problem and develop a program of short-term and long-term actions to prevent the export of violative shrimp from Malaysia to the United States.

Despite Malaysia’s ban on the use of chloramphenicol and nitrofurans in seafood farm operations, the FDA has continued to find residues of these drugs in shrimp and prawns from peninsular Malaysia exported to the United States. From October 1, 2014, to September 30, 2015, the FDA tested 138 samples of shrimp and prawns from peninsular Malaysia. In all, 45 samples (32 percent) contained residues of chloramphenicol and/or nitrofurans. For that reason, FDA is today placing companies processing and/or shipping shrimp and prawns from peninsular Malaysia on Import Alert. Malaysia’s states of Sabah and Sarawak are not subject to the import alert.

Import alerts such as this one are one way that the FDA protects U.S. consumers and ensures that food is safe and wholesome. The FDA has an ongoing program to sample aquacultured food products for residues of new animal drugs not approved in the United States for use in aquacultured animals. Typically, if the FDA finds residues of unapproved new animal drugs in human food, it places the responsible foreign firm on an existing import alert targeting seafood adulterated with such residues.

If you do wrong, admit it accept it and blame your own bad luck. When you choose to light up under the block, you should know the risk of getting catch.

Why scold the officer racist names like anek and pundeh? Do you know what is racial harmony in Singapore? Get saman gives you license to be racist to others? Please make her famous.

Dear A.S.S,

I would like to refer you to this Facebook update by PM Lee about the by-election of Bukit Batok.

He said, "DPM Teo and I spoke earlier. Now that the Budget is out of the way, we are calling this by-election to enable residents of Bukit Batok to have their own MP as we work together to improve Singaporeans’ lives."

What does he mean by that? The residents just chose their MP last year in 2015. Does he mean they were not "enable" last year? The only reason why they are "enable" to choose so to speak is because David Ong had an affair AKA personal indiscretion. It is not "enable".

So PAP please come off the high horse and just say it as it is ok? No need to cover up and say this is to enable residents to have their own MP.

These 3 Redmart delivery drivers ought to be shot in their heads for the way they recklessly drive.. Speeding in excess of 90km/h and tail-gating each other and other cars as if they're racing..

Should any accident happen, they definitely deserve full blame!

I'm a resident of Blk 704 Bedok Reservoir Road and have to put up with the nonsense of having several indian nationals who recently moved to the vacant units of the block.

The place was neutral until they arrived and made it very smelly through cooking nothing but only spices and burning smoky incense all day long with noisy bells. Even if their god don't mind being woken up, we who work the night shifts and the young children do!

To make matters worse, they even marked territory by placing hazardous furniture as if they own the whole place by often calling their whole gang to sit and have loud parties there. (Situation is the same in hospitals where these minorities visit in large numbers and disturb the peace of other patients) They are even allowed special exceptions by HDB to rear prohibited large dogs in their cramped 3 room flat. Feedbacks to the Town Council also fell on deaf ears!

S'poreans are already feeling the uneasy squeeze in jobs and infrastructural amenities and now have to compete with foreigners for leisure space as well? Sorry but will have to agree with MP Denise Phua that this issue will be a walking time bomb in the recession months ahead as the government plans to ramp up the population to 6.9 million regardless!

What is the law in SG in regards to emergency vehicles such as fire engines and ambulances? I have been here 3 years and I constantly witness drivers not giving way to emergency vehicles such as this one.

This occurred on Bukit Timah Road near 6th Avenue. Drivers refused to pull over and give way and this ambulance struggled to get through the congestion. Lights were blinking for 3 kilometers yet no one gave way.

What if your son or daughter were in that ambulance???

We were on a staycation, and after we got back to our room in the evening, I took a shower and went to sleep because I was tired. I woke up with my pants off and him trying to penetrate me.

Is there any action I can take against him? Also, would I need to get my parents involved? (19 this year) I don't know if this can count as an attempted rape in court (if there isn't such thing) but there could, at least, be a molestation charge, right?

To those who try and downsize this issue, it's not some simple thing that you can forget if you were in my (and many people around the world) situations. I guess I am fortunate I wasn't violently raped but nonetheless I have had a lot of psychological trauma as a result of what he did to me. Countless therapy sessions, suicidal thoughts, and being unable to open up to my family about this, it's a huge toll.

So if you genuinely don't think my plight is "nothing much", I hope you could at least try and refrain from saying these things. I already feel like dirt and a worthless human, and I just need advice on how to take action.

'I remember attending some "sex-education" talk when I was in secondary two, and near the end they gave out these cards for us to sign. Being the naive boy I was, I obediently signed it and at choir practice later on that day, asked my 17 year old senior to be my witness. She gave me a weird look but signed it anyway, and I didn't think too much about it after that.

It dawned on me few years later that I was part of a whole group of 14 year old kids were being brainwashed into thinking that sex before marriage was wrong, and that my senior was probably thinking how wrong it was that kids that young were being pressured into promising that they wouldn't engage in sexual activity until they entered a "lifelong, committed, monogamous marriage". I wonder who's the one with the agenda now.'

there is an ongoing problem with the driver's app which grab has not resolved. I believe resolving it will really help and motivate the drivers a lot.

when i turn on the apps on my Android phone, while waiting for booking, i will use my phone and toggle between different functions of my phone.

many times, if it happens that a trip booking comes in when I just happened to toggle between from one page to another, i can hear the notification tone but cant see the booking. even if

I will go to the grab driver's apps, the booking wont be shown and the next thing is the apps will be locked cos it will be deem that I didnt accept the booking.

this is very frustrating cos i want the trip (after all, i am waiting for a trip) and I get my trip cancellation % affected of no fault of mine.

I noticed this problem since I was a full time driver in Sept 2015. Then I feedback and the call centre would tell me that no one else gave such feedback. just asked me to delete and downlaod the apps again. of course, that did not solve the problem.

recently, my friends also encountered the same problem and when they called into the call centre, they were told the same thing - no one has called in to feedback about this problem!!
Emailing the support has gotten no reply and no actions too.

I hope Grab will really spend some time and effort to resolve this problem. just get your techinican to try out the apps and they will surely encounter the problem.

A few days ago, I bought this Greenfields low fat milk with the expiry date 28 April. When I drank it, to my horror, the milk had already turned bad!

How can this be when it is not supposed to have expired yet.

I hope parents of children who drink milk out of the cartons, taste the milk each time before they give some to their children.
