Went to Breadtalk@Sun Plaza for breakfast at 9am this morning. I had a shock of my life when I cracked the half boiled egg - the egg yolk was black in colour and some formation of a baby chick. See photo shots.

I showed to the crew and she responded by giving another egg and not even alarm or apologise.

You people don't want to vote properly, now make noise about the government not being accountable to the people.

Big surprise, but sadly this was what Singaporeans voted for. A government that isn't unaccountable for their actions who face no repercussions for their actions.
But it's ok, Singaporeans have a goldfish memory. When elections come just give free gift, suan opposition, put crap in the media that YOU people lap up like a dog eating its own shit.

Just make all of you feel good with a tad of fear mongering and the good citizens line up like rats to the pipe piper's song.

This is the government we deserve. I fear that Singapore will never majulah from the avusive relationship we have with our government.

It's pretty similar to being in an abusive relationship where the abusive spouse tells you, you are worthless without them and that you will never find anyone better. But when you are about to leave they tell you they will change.

When will we ever learn?

Tesla car manufacturer Elon Musk says that he had called PM Lee about the $15,000-surcharge for electric vehicles in Singapore and that Lee had told him that “he would investigate the situation”. If this is true, it is commendable that the PM responded so promptly to Musk's request.

But this morning I also read that Dominique Lee's family had written – repeatedly – to Mr Lee: “We had even written to the Prime Minister several times, pleading for help in getting answers. All they did was to direct our questions to MINDEF for their reply. Such help is as useful to us, as a comb is to Michael Jordan.”

And then there's Benjamin Lim's case. We haven't heard anything from Mr Lee on the unfortunate death of the boy. Why did the PM not weigh in on the matter when it was raised in Parliament? Was he even present?

Mr Lee must remember that he is Dominique's Prime Minister, he is Benjamin's Prime Mnister, he is our Prime Minister. He is not Elon's Prime Minister.

I hope Mr Lee will respond to this awkward situation.

Foiled repatriation part 2: My colleague Luke Tan was at the airport to prevent an employer from sending Ashraful, a worker from Bangladesh back to his country. The employer was hopping mad when we did that and filed a police report. With a serious back injury which could result in a permanent disability, we are seeking answers to why he was sent home without the treatment recommended by his doctor.

We also learned that he spent 2 months at NUH waiting for the employer to provide a letter of guarantee to pay for his operation. Why wasn't it given despite the fact that it was deemed necessary by the doctor? Why was he kept for two whole months even though the doctor recommended an operation "as early as possible?"

MOM was informed of the urgency of the situation before the scheduled repatriation, but he still did not receive the treatment he needs. We have filed another appeal and will wait for the outcome. Hopefully it is a positive one. Ashraful has worked four years in Singapore doing jobs which Singaporeans are less likely to do. He has contributed so much but he's going home with a broken back.

Big thanks to Dipa Swaminathan who helped write frantic emails to MOM expressing her concerns about the situation, which played a part in Ashraful's matter being given more serious consideration. We need allies like her in the fight for justice.

A 36 year old maid was on her way to pick up her employer's daughters from tuition. She entered Lift A at Block 317 Ang Mo Kio Street 31. Little did she expect, once the doors closed, the lift malfunction and sent her shooting upwards towards the 20th storey at high speed.

The lift's elevation was so rapid that it threw her off her feet. The maid was stuck in the lift for 1.5 hours before SCDF personnel arrived and extracted her from the lift. Throughout the ordeal, she was reduced to tears and has vowed never to take the same lift again. She now has a phobia whenever, she needs to take the lift.

Dear Editors,

This morning at around 10 am near Zheng Hua block 505 rubbish collection area, a wild boar was spotted. The police are currently tracking it down. The last time the wild boar was spotted in the vicinity was at 6:33 pm but escape and is still on the run.

If anyone spots this wild boar, please approach with caution and call the authorities for assistance. Wild boars are known to charge at humans when threatened.

It is always sad to hear news of national servicemen dying in the line of duty. While we grieve with the parents and families of those who have lost their lives, we may never fully comprehend the full extend of their loss.

Whenever incidences like these happen, we tend to be quick to judge and put the blame on the SAF. Sometimes, things gets out of hand and the issue(s) become(s) politicised and a lot of anti-establishment feelings are generated. Some worry that their sons or possibly daughters will not be properly cared for by the SAF. Some might form the impression that the SAF is heartless.

So, is the SAF a heartless and uncaring organisation? I feel compelled to share my story. Nothing drama.

About 9 years ago, while training in Thailand with my NS Artillery Battalion, I received an sms from my pregnant wife to inform me that she was bleeding and the doctor mentioned that she was in danger of a miscarriage. My heart sank. We were in camp preparing stores and equipment to roll out that evening for the artillery battalion live-firing exercise which would keep us outfield for a couple of days.

To cut the story short, after reporting to the CO, and verifying the facts, he graciously allowed me to be flown back to Singapore via SQ at the earliest possible flight the next day. I was driven from Kanchanaburi camp to the Bangkok Embassy in a Thai army jeep by a Thai Army personnel almost three times my age (thank you 'Thai Encik') and was escorted to the airport and plane by the Singapore embassy staff (thank you) in Bangkok.

Till this day, I am still thankful to my CO, Battery Commander and BSM for going through so much administrative trouble, making all the arrangements despite still having to prepare for the exercise, to ensure that I could be back for my wife. I am also thankful to my fellow comrades of 258SA Bravo Battery for their understanding of my sudden absence, leaving them 'chiong' with one man short and one of my regrets is to never have gone through that last FATEP together with these 兄弟们！

As an educator, I occasionally encounter parents who ask me about NS as they are worried about their sons' well-being. I usually tell them that you probably will not find any organisation as obsessed about safety and soldiers' well-being as the SAF. (Common lah, even our parents also don't make us water parade to ensure we are properly hydrated before we play sports. Of course, some parents will still force their sons to drink the bitter 'liang teh' : )

Yes, sometimes accidents and human errors do happen and we should learn from those lessons. But at the very core of SAF, I would personally testify that it is a caring institution, one that I am proud to be associated with albeit now only as an MR personnel.

I hope those currently serving NS will stay strong and united, have faith and make the best use of your NS time to grow as a person and grow your friendship and watch out for each other.

To the Commanders, WOs and specialists, I pray that God will grant you wisdom to make the right decisions to ensure that our Singapore sons come back home safely after their tour of duty.

For the second gameweek in a row, S.League teams Balestier Khalsa and Tampines Rovers stayed unbeaten in the AFC Cup, indicating that local football is on the up.
In fact, they beat Kitchee SC and Selangor 1-0, earning crucial wins against teams widely regarded as the best in Group F and E respectively.

Both teams also rose to the top of their respective tables, putting them in a good position to fly Singapore's flag in the knockout rounds for the first time since Home United made the last 16 in 2012.

While five-time S.League champions Tampines are bankrolled by lawyer Krishna Ramachandra and sponsors Komoco Motors, Balestier are a relatively smaller side who are playing in the AFC Cup for only the second time.

This made their victory over the Hong Kong Premier League champions - the first time an S.League team have beaten Kitchee in nine attempts since SAFFC won 2-0 in April 2008 - all the more remarkable.

Last night, at the Jalan Besar Stadium, the Tigers proved that there is more to football than just possession as they scored with their only effort on goal in the first half when Zulkiffli Hassim tapped in Fadhil Noh's cross from the right in the 31st minute.

They allowed Kitchee, dubbed Hong Kong's Barca, to tiki taka with their short passes on the artificial pitch, preferring to wait for the inevitable lapse of concentration before pouncing.

After succeeding once, they nearly repeated the trick eight minutes later when the hardworking Miroslav Kristic won a penalty, but the hard-lucked striker's spot-kick was saved by Wang Zhenpeng.

Kitchee poured forward and recorded more than 15 shots and almost 10 corners but could not find a way past Zaiful Nizam.

Kitchee SC coach Alex Chu bemoaned the absence of his injured imports - centre back Recio and winger Jordi Tarres - as well as the temperature and fixture schedule.

Hope this will help some going to be NSF make better decision. Thus what is the lesson we learn from this incident and those before, whether you are NSF or NS men.

1) Clarify with the superior if you are not clear about procedures or the equipment or training. If they cannot provide a satisfactory answer to assure your safety, you can choose to fall out and not participate in it. 2 years of NS is only a small phase in your life. It is not worth throwing your life away if your superiors cannot ensure your safety and welfare are taken care of.

2) Sound out if you feel uncomfortable and please fall out immediately. Don't be threatened by any scare tactic that anything will happen to you if you don't continue the training. The only worse thing that can happen is if you drop dead or suffer permanent injury while training.

3) During medical centre trip, if MO says you are suitable to go back for training, tell the MO that you really don't feel well and insist for MC or light duty. Be persist! You know your body condition and health the best... Don't entrust your life to MO who can only assess your status at that point in time. And that is also being fair to the MO as well.

4) When doing light duty, please sound out if you cannot do certain actions due to illness or injury, or cannot carry heavy things. No one knows you are not well or your limitation unless you sound out. Be brave. No one will fault you for speaking out for your own safety!

To future parents or those with sons who are ready to enter NS, please teach them to think logically and sensibly when serving the country. There will come a time when they are not ready to participate in a training (whether due to illness or other circumstances)- falling out or reporting sick is their given rights! They should exercise their rights! And not be scared by any superior or be peer pressured! Remind them to monitor their own body conditions at all time. It is their obligation to look after themselves!

Lastly, let me share with you a little story during my BMT time, we were doing running around the field in tekong, then a guy suddenly had a neck cramp and his neck was twisted to face only one side. He couldn't turn his neck at all! His veins are protruding out! He was obviously in pain. And you know what happened? All the sergeants who saw his situation (pretty shocking) just left him alone to rest and they continue with the rest of training with others.

Not a first aider was with this poor fellow. I don't know what happened to that fellow in the end, but imagine if there is possible complication due to the neck cramp. No one will be able to attend to him immediately as he was left alone.

This incident was a decade ago. Things have changed for the better now. But that incident was a good reminder to me and to the readers here and to your sons, that you are responsible for your own body. Fall out if you feel uncomfortable!

Mummy, what are these ugly things on my leg? they hurt.. It must have been the most heartbreaking 2 days in my life that I feel like murdering people!!!

Over one weekend and the number of hfmd cases can shoot up to 20 cases (or more as I was last updated yesterday). what was the school doing? what did the management do to control the situation?

Children from different blocks can also cross contaminate? please step up on your hygiene and sop as the working mothers are leaving their precious children's lives in your hands!

Take note guys of these two culprits who steal battery from solar powered CCTV in public places...

This is warning to never buy battery packs from them. The black colour battery is solar battery 12v 28ah taken from the public CCTV. Do not purchase these stolen goods.

To my knowledge, this matter is under police investigation currently. When questions, the lady involved claimed it was her boyfriend Alif who stole the battery and she is not involved.

A friend of mine was on board Bus 157 towards Jurong West when a woman whipped out a knife and started to peel onions on the bus. Such busy efficient house wife, every minute count is it.

Is this considered dangerous action? To bring a knife out in public. What if the bus emergency brakes and the knife hurts someone else accidentally?

A grassroots leader, Wang Lei from Sembawang was taking the MRT from Bishan to Harbourfront when he was in luck to meet Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan on the train.

If you observe the photos posted by Wang Lei, nobody seems enamoured Khaw Boon Wan except for the grassroots leader. Minister Khaw also flaunted his prototype CEPAS wristband which could allow commuters access to MRT stations without tapping any EZlink cards.

After having met with Dominique Lee's mother at her request, the SDP is of the view that the case must be reviewed particularly in regards to the Government Proceedings Act (GPA).

According to media reports, the High Court ruled against Dominique's family, citing Section 14 of the Act that “Nothing done or omitted to be done by a member of the forces while on duty as such shall subject either him or the Government to liability in tort for causing the death of another person, or for causing personal injury to another person, in so far as the death or personal injury is due to anything suffered by that other person while he is a member of the forces...”

The law makes no moral sense. It unfairly protects the government from being held accountable. When the State requires citizens to perform a duty, it cannot declare itself to be free of responsibility and accountability especially when those citizens' are harmed as a result of its, or its officers', negligence. This creates moral hazard.

In Dominique's case, the family is seeking moral restitution. The government, not just the Singapore Armed Forces, has a duty to honour the sacrifice that the soldier has made and assuage the pain that his family has had to endure.

It is inexcusable for the PAP government to hide behind Section 14 of the GPA and absolve itself from its responsibilities over the incident.

Now that this law has come to the public's attention, which parent would not be nervous about entrusting their sons to the Ministry of Defence knowing that if an incident similar to the one that robbed Dominique from his family were to occur, the PAP would invoke the GPA and not take responsibility? Which NS man will not feel aggrieved that the government is taking such an unjustified stance when he is called to risk his life in defence of this nation? What does this law do to the morale of our troops and, by extension, how will it jeopardise the national security of our country?

We. the citizens of Singapore, will defend our nation and, if need be, give our lives to protect it. But when we do, we would like to know that our government is there with us. And when our lives are taken, we want our government to shed that silent, compassionate tear and to comfort our loved ones and tell them that we did not die in vain.

But it is beyond demoralising when we see this Government take cover behind a law that it crafted to say that it cannot be held accountable if and when we are killed in the line of military duty.

We all know that in this imperfect world mistakes are made. Failures and accidents in the military are a fact of life. Singaporeans are not unreasonable to expect that the Government do everything perfectly.

But when things go wrong, we expect our leaders to – unprompted and without reluctance – step forward and take responsibility. They need to be forthright and transparent with their handling of the aftermath and dedicate themselves to ensuring that the incident does not happen again. In other words, to be accountable.

Dominique's family cannot get him back no matter what it says and does. His mother has live to with her pain for the rest of her life like only a mother will. Is sorry such a hard word for the PAP to say to her?

For the sake of the nation, Section 14 of the GPA must go. A government that cannot feel compassion for its people cannot make good laws for good laws come from a caring heart, not just a calculative head. The least that our brave and loyal young men deserve is the highest standards of accountability from the government. Section 14 diminishes that accountability.

In a bid to prevent a repeat of the haze that occurred in 2015, Indonesia's western province of Riau has declared a state of emergency over forest and land fires blazing on the island of Sumatra on 8 March 2016.

About 500 military and police personnel and a water-bombing helicopter have been deployed to help fight the fires but the haze had not yet reached urban areas.

The current wind conditions means that the haze will not affect Singapore for now.

Records have shown that efforts by Indonesia and her neighbouring countries to put out the fires have been dismal. The 2015 forest fires ended only when the rainy season arrived.

In 2014, Indonesia overtook Brazil to become the world’s biggest deforester.

When asked to merely move his car more to the side so lorry driver can unload his goods, car owner claimed that this loading/unloading lots are only meant for residential use and not other lorries.

He himself parked his car, 'unloaded' his Wife and kids and left with them, leaving his car parked there.

Can other Drivers vouch for what he claimed to be true? Are these lots really meant for residential use ONLY

A foreign worker was seen guiding an old lady in the middle of the road in Orchard despite the busy traffic. This incident happened in front of Lucky Plaza.

"Each time you voice discomfort about their dorms too near your middle-class homes, Each time you put a photo of them sitting in your MRT, Each time you feed them terrible food..

They don't just restore roads for our fancy cars, they restore our faith in humanity."

Zhang Quanfu a 31 year old PRC national was convicted and sentenced to 28 weeks jail for threatening to make Parliament House explode and to kill Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's entire family.

Zhang make the threats to police while he was drunk after downing at least 5 bottles of bear at a restaurant in Geylang Lorong 27 on 19 July 2015. The prosecution sought a 6 months jail term for Zhang as extensive police resources were used to increase security measures at sensitive locations in Singapore.

After making his threats from his friend's mobile phone, several police officers were sent to Geylang where he was arrested while still on the line with officers who tried to keep him engaged on the phone.

Zhang Quanfu pleaded for leniency during the trial saying that he was deeply remorseful and that he wished to be reunited with and support his family back in China.

Presidential Election 2017 An Important Announcement.

At the last Presidential Elections of 2011, some 738,000 Singaporeans voted for me. Many of my friends and supporters have asked if l intend to contest in the forthcoming Presidential elections in 2017.

I owe them an answer. This Friday 11th march 2016 I, l shall let Singaporeans know of my intention.
