GE2020: PAP Josephine Teo Ignores Resident's Concerns And Rudely Walks Away Before He Finish Talking

$

During her walkabout at a market in Jalan Besar GRC, Josephine Teo approached a man to give out her propaganda flyer and ask him to support her.

However, when the man started asking her about why he didn't receive $3,000 in financial help from the government due to Covid19, she was so stunned by his question and lack of support in the PAP that she even dropped the stack of flyers she was holding in her hands. After she picked up the flyers, she just brushed him aside in a patronising tone before just rudely walking off to approach other people, even before the man could finish saying his piece.

Jalan Besar voters, is this the type of MP you want to represent you? Do you really think that Josephine Teo can be your voice when she doesn't even have the patience and respect for her voters to listen to their concerns and just walk away from you?

If you don't want such a rude and patronising person to represent you in Parliament, you know what to do.

Reader's Contribution: People's Association Ignores Needy Tanjong Pagar Resident's House Leaking Issue

The Peoples Association doesn’t care bout people.

I’m living alone with severe health and financial problems. I’m on a long medical leave by the doctor. My house has been leaking incessantly for many many months now. It got so bad, it caused a huge spike in my water bill usage. It has also affected me health.

I was afflicted by fungal infection due to the leak. It is imperative repairs are made.  Now, I’ve tried all the social welfare organisations to no avail.

I even talked my MP Dr Chia Shi-Lu over my problems and the leak issue. He said he will foot the bill for the repairs and told me to contact HDB and the Town Council. He also said, the Peoples Association can help me.They are aware of the problem and told me they will get back to me. Unfortunately, the leak remained unrepaired today.

I’m also living in darkness as the ceiling lights at home has burst. I’ve a profound fear of the darkness. This problem has caused me to stay out and return home at around 5-6 a.m everyday (when there’s light). There’s clearly insufficient funds to hire an electrician. I contacted the PA some time ago and they are also aware of the issue. However, when I tried to remind em of the problem, they ignored me!?!?

I thought the PA were supposed to help pple in need?

GE2020: PAP Supporter Heckles Lee Hsien Yang, Asks Him Not To Air His Dirty Linen In Public

$

On a PSP walkabout at a market, a man in red confronted Lee Hsien Yang and shouted at him that he is shameful, and asked him to settle his family matters at home.

In the video, he could be heard shouting: "it's shameful! Family matter ss..settle at home. Family matter settle at home don't bring to the public. Singaporean not interested in your family problem."

Lee Hsien Yang politely replied him: "You are entitled to your own opinions" before walking away.

The man then went on to rant "Don't wash dirty linen of the family in the public. Shameful! Xia Suay!"

Is this man a real resident of the constituency airing his views? Or is he a paid actor of the PAP to cast aspersions and ruin the good reputation of the PSP?

The PAP must be shivering in their pants now after seeing the huge ground support that the PSP has in the constituencies that they are contesting in. They are so scared of losing that they have activated their lackeys to come out and heckle PSP members who are merely walking the ground and greeting residents.

GE2020: Lee Hsien Yang Calls On Sinkies to Vote For Opposition This GE!

$
0
0

This election year, Singapore is seeing a surge of credible and capable alternative candidates. They are caring and authentic. Many have impressive qualities and qualifications. But what matters even more is their preparedness to speak out fearlessly for the needs of their fellow Singaporeans.

Standing for the opposition needs character and courage in a way that standing on a PAP ticket does not. It demonstrates a willingness to sacrifice for our country. Alternative candidates have often been victims of unfair treatment, character assassination, and dissuasion from frightened family and friends. These candidates step forward to seek justice and equality for all. They have chosen to speak out because they are concerned for the future of our country.

Contrast this to the monochrome of PAP candidates. For many, entering the political arena appears like a career step. They are supported by a huge machinery, have the benefits of makeovers and the prospect of a parachute into Parliament on the coat-tails of a Minister.

Do we really want Parliament to be a mere stepping stone from a senior position in the SAF or civil service or some government-related body to higher office? Have paper qualifications and years of “grooming” created better or stronger leaders? Has the PAP system enhanced the performance of our 4G leaders? Do we want to perpetuate the PAP’s “natural aristocracy”?

PAP MPs can generally expect smooth careers, some into Cabinet and other very highly paid political positions, others with directorships and various other positions. Given party expectations and obligations, and the party whip, they rarely speak up in Parliament to question issues of importance and they predictably vote as the party directs. For them, entering politics looks like a calculated career move rather than a sacrifice or service.

Not for them the path of Dr Tan Cheng Bock, who has always been his own man, and that rare MP who exercised independence of mind. Unlike him, even moderate PAP MPs can become part of the group-think.

Opposition MPs will question unpopular policies. They will fight any attempt by the PAP to raise GST. They can question outrageous ministerial salaries and conflicts of interest at Temasek and elsewhere. They will continue to question oppressive laws that silence rights to free speech and public assembly. Speaking their minds and tenacious questioning is how they will protect us from abuse of power and help create transparency and accountability. “Ownself check ownself” does not work.

The Workers Party MPs ferreted out how $22 billion of stimulus spending for the Covid-19 pandemic is actually loan capital. They challenged the Constitution amendments on how we elect our President. The list of issues they have spoken up on is extensive: the government’s population white paper, corruption in GLCs, HDB leases, MRT breakdowns, our CPF, spending on foreign students, the Administration of Justice Act, the Prevention of Harassment Act and POFMA.

For accountability, we need our elected representatives in Parliament to be willing to speak up and uncover the truth behind the PAP’s claims. We need them to be our voices and our vote in Parliament.

Have your voices actually heard in Parliament.
Vote for the opposition.

GE2020: Pritam Singh Says Candidates Should Be Authentic and Upfront, Not Sanitise Their Past

$
0
0

WP's Sengkang candidate Raeesah Khan, the subject of police reports on her online posts about minority discrimination, has stepped forward to make an apology this evening. In great team spirit, WP Chief Pritam Singh stood by his decision to field her and confirmed she will continue with the campaigning.

Raeesah apologised at the press conference:
"My intention was never to cause any social division but to raise awareness to minority concerns. I apologise to any racial group or community who have been hurt by my comments. My remarks were insensitive and I regret making them. I feel really passionate about minority issues regardless of race and in my passion I made improper remarks, and I have to be accountable for them. I will fully cooperate in any police investigations."

Mr Singh clarified that Raeesah was not charged - being charged requires a person to knowingly do something and the person must have intention to cause animosity. He said Raeesah's statement has put this into perspective.

As a good party chief, Pritam stood firm on his decision to field the 26-year-old Raeesah, saying that in the meet-the-people sessions, he has seen that she takes each case very seriously and is very vested into the issues a resident is facing and the help he needs. One of his criteria for choosing candidates is being able to put yourself and walk a mile in the shoes of someone who needs help and assistance and he has no regrets fielding a candidate like that.

On Raeesah's social media comments, Pritam said:

"I would like to say that this is the youngest candidate in the WP's slate. That generation has completely grown up on social media and for me personally I don't encourage and would be actually a bit disappointed if our candidates were to try to sanitise their past and I think they should be upfront and authentic in public, this is who they are."

"And in the event there are certain posts or certain comments they may have made which are untoward, then I would expect them to explain themselves. And that's how I think that generation who has lived on social media in their adolescent years will have to understand the difference between what you do on social media and what happens when you move into public life."

Kudos to Pritam Singh for the spot-on answer and Raeesah for being brave to sincerely apologise. We need authentic, not fake politicians to represent Singaporeans. Mr. Singh, you are a true leader who does not abandon your party members. Go WP!

GE2020: Police Report Made Against Heng Swee Keat For Saying Sinkies Not Ready For Minority Prime Minister

$

After a police report was made against Raeesah Khan for her 2018 comments about the discrimination faced by minorities, a police report has now been made against the future Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat for his 2019 comments that older Singaporeans are not ready for a non-Chinese prime minister.

The person who made the report says that he finds the comment to be socially divisive and says he feels unsafe in Singapore. The report also states that HSK's comments "promotes enmity between different groups on grounds or religion or race and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony. This comment unknowingly or knowingly promotes or attempts to promote, on grounds of religion or race, disharmony or feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different religious or racial groups."

Looks like the people are fed-up with the PAP's dirty mud-slinging of opposition candidates and are no longer going to keep quiet about it. They are now taking matters into their own hands and if the PAP wants to play this game, Singaporeans can also play the same game and beat them to it!

GE2020: WP Chief Pritam Singh Standing By Raeesah Khan Is The Epitome Of True Leadership

$
0
0

Despite the dirty smearing of the PAP on WP candidate Raeesah Khan, the WP leadership Pritam Singh and Sylvia Lim stood by their candidate and came out looking even more good than the PAP. If the PAP thought they could destroy the WP Sengkang team with this, they can't be even more wrong.

Shortly after the police report was made, the WP held a doorstop interview with the media to clarify this.

Raeesah apologised, without making any excuses for herself. Pritam and Sylvia stood by her and did not throw her under the bus. He even said that he did not regret fielding her because of her grassroots efforts and her passion for the people. More importantly, he was accountable to the public and to his party members by not whitewashing past actions, but rather emphasized authenticity and transparency.

Compare this to the PAP who just left Ivan him to defend himself. Did Heng Swee Keat stand by him?

All these qualities - standing up for your people, accountability to your people, honesty, transparency, uniting the people - these are hallmarks of true leadership that unfortunately the PAP sorely lacks now.

This GE, you can choose the type of leader you want. Make the right choice, make your vote count.

GE2020: Tharman and Dr. Chee Fist Bump at Bukit Batok During Walkabout

$

During Dr Chee's campaign trail at Bukit Batok yesterday, he bumped into Tharman who was campaigning for Murali Pillai. They gave each other a gentlemanly fist bump before heading off.

According to Dr Chee, he saw Murali after that too and wished him all the best. Dr Chee said on his Facebook that "Elections should be a contest of ideas not personal attacks".

It is no doubt that both Dr Chee and Tharman are gentlemen, the latter being kind enough to support his helpless team member Ah Mu at Bukit Batok. It does not reflect well on Ah Mu when he can't stand on his own and since he is so incompetent, it is better for Dr Chee to take over Bukit Batok and show residents there what Ah Mu failed to achieve.

GE2020: Police Report Made Against Man Who Reported WP Candidate Raeesah Khan To The Police

$

0

A police report has been made against the man who is believed to have reported WP's Sengkang candidate Raeesah Khan to the police for her 2018 social media posts.

The man, a known PAP IB, Abdul Malik bin Ghazali, outed himself in a Facebook post by claiming that he was the one of the first to leak out and viral screenshots of her Twitter account.

"Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones".

By helping his PAP masters, Mr Ghazali forgot that he himself is not innocent of making racist remarks. A search through his past tweets and comments on Facebook revealed that he has ownself made many inflammatory and divisive remarks about people of other races.

In the police report, he was accused of violating multiple laws under the Sedition Act, tried to insinuate religious discord by abusing his Islamic beliefs.

His past criminal antecedents were also dug up. He is an ex-convict for cheating his customer's money as an insurance agent, and had previously also threatened to burn MP Vivian Balakrishnan for his role in the Youth Olympics budget fiasco.

Mr Ghazali is also a former staunch opposition supporter and even a member of SDP before turning 180 degrees to become a fervent PAP supporter and IB. And he is not shy from admitting it.

GE2020: PAP Candidate Hany Soh's Facebook Page Ownself Wished Ownself Recovery

PAP Marsiling-Yew Tee candidate Hany Soh's Facebook admin was caught forgetting to switch accounts. This happened when a comment appeared to ownself console ownself after she posted about fracturing her foot during her campaign.

Hany Soh posted that when running from unit to unit while visiting residents at Blk 891B yesterday afternoon, she missed a step and fell, sustaining a fracture on her left foot. As a result she is cutting down house visits the next few days.

After Hany Soh made that post, Hany Soh commented "Oh gosh...pls take care and get well soon". Oh gosh.

In an attempt to save herself further embarrassment, Hany Soh clarified that the person who posted the comment was the "admin of my page" who was so excited to show his concern that he forgot he is logged into her page. She said "the comment itself was in fact made by Kelvin 孙文海, the host for my Woodgrove Channel Facebook live streams, who was added as an admin of my page to facilitate our collaboration".

For those of you still wondering if these kind of politician's Facebook pages are managed by themselves, you got your answer there. How can we know for sure who is the one making posts and replying to comments on the page? Worse, do politicians or MPs outsource their jobs to other people? Can they be accountable to the public with this hands-off approach?

GE2020: Sinkies Should Make Police Report On All The Racist PAP Comments!

$

The PAP thinks that just because they wear White, they have become so delusional that they think that they are so innocent and pure and clean. They think that they have the moral highground and can smear opposition candidates by making police reports against them.

Once again, those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

So many PAP Ministers and MPs have made so many disgusting and racist comments against the minorities themselves, even the late Lee Kuan Yew is known to have made so many racist comments against Malays!

Standing in solidarity with Raeesah, all of us should make police reports about the various racist things PAP have said (there is a huge archive of this and its easily found because they’re not ashamed of it) and inundate SPF with these reports. If thousands of Singaporeans do this, they’ll have to stop the smear campaign and investigation into Raeesah!

GE2020: Police Report Made on PAP's Press Statement of WP's Position on Raeesah Khan

$

A concerned citizen has made a police report on PAP's press statement asking WP to state its stand on Raeesah Khan's posts.

He wrote on his Facebook:

"I have made a police report regarding the PAP's recent press statement titled "The Workers' Party's position on SengKang candidate Ms. Raeesah Khan".

The purpose of this report is to hold the PAP accountable for an "offence of promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion or race under Section 298A of the Penal Code" as well as the spreading of online falsehoods.

The statement reads "In fairness to voters, both in Sengkang and elsewhere, the WP should state its stand on Ms Raeesah's posts, since she has admitted to making highly derogatory statements about Chinese and Christians."

This is patently untrue, as Ms. Raeesah Khan statement states only that her statement was "insensitive" and "improper". By falsely accusing Ms. Raeesah Khan of admitting to something she did not, this PAP statement itself promotes enmity between different groups on grounds of religion or race by promoting false narratives which seek to divide rather than unite Singaporeans.

I am proud to live in a country where everybody is equal in the eyes of the law, and the ruling party itself is not above the law."

Salute you bro! We should not allow the PAP to be bullies! We also can make police report and let mata investigate them!

GE2020: Police Report Made on Actor Dennis Chew for Brownface Ad

A netizen disclosed that his cousin has just made a police report against the actor Dennis Chew in the brownface ad for Nets for the same reason Raeesah was reported.

This comes as more and more police reports are being made after police reports were made against WP Raeesah Khan's online comments.

The police replied that the actor has since apologised. But he said the ad still exists in the digital realm and people might have missed his apology.

The police are looking into the case. We will see how these two case are handled and if they yield the same results. Then we know whether privilege exists.

GE2020: Petition Started for PAP to Apologise for Statement on Raeesah Khan

$

A petition for the PAP to apologise for its press statement on Raeesah Khan has started today.

Earlier, the PAP wrote in its press statement on Raeesah Khan "Why does the WP still consider her worthy of consideration as an MP? This is a serious matter, which goes to the fundamental principles on which our country has been built."

The petition starters found the PAP behaving hypocritically as PAP members themselves have made racially insensitive remarks. Examples listed below:

1.“Bus filled with young terrorist trainees?” - caption of photo posted by ex YPAP member, Jason Neo, of Malay children from Huda Kindergarten wearing traditional Muslim headwear

2. “We have developed a plan to tackle this challenge [foreign workers hanging around in the field]. But it takes a virus to empty the space” - Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, 2020

3. "One evening, I drove to Little India and it was pitch dark but not because there was no light, but because there were too many Indians around." - Former PAP MP Mr Choo Wee Khiang, 1992“

4. Older generation of S'poreans not ready for non-Chinese PM: Heng Swee Keat” - headline from TODAYOnline, 2019 (police report has apparently been filed for this)

Who else but the PAP themselves are to be blamed for the petition and police reports against them? Who was the one who started playing dirty politics? Now Singaporeans are letting them have a taste of their own medicine!

GE2020: Fernvale Is Ang Mo Kio GRC's Forgotten Child

$

<Reader's Contribution>

High rise littering has always been a problem in Fernvale, especially at the blocks with rental flats.

Look at these pictures. They were only taken last week, and up till now, no one has come to fix the damaged shelter. Usually I'm bochup, but there are many toddlers going to school right in front of the damaged shelter. Everytime I walked pass I also worry for them.

Even before the shelter was built, there is always litter on the ground every morning. I have made complains to NEA since last year, but it has still not been resolved. I only see some lousy paper stuck to the lift area to warn people about high rise littering.

The rental flat there really messy, coffee shop also out of control, bunch of uncles always smoke in the coffee shop. During CB also sit behind the coffee shop chit chatting.

So far, no PAP or opposition MP have walkabout here. Don't even have any opposition poster here.

Why are Fernvale residents like me not being fully represented? Why are our concerns not taken seriously? Even during this election time also don't bother to come visit us. Is the PAP so confident that they will win Ang Mo Kio GRC until they can completely forget or neglect us?

Proximity wise, Fernvale is actually closer to Sengkang than Ang Mo Kio. I wish at the next elections Fernvale will be redrawn into Sengkang GRC so that I can vote for WP and vote the PAP out!

GE2020: PAP's Jalan Besar Candidate Mr Sundilah Accused of Playing Up Malay Stereotype

$

During the Jalan Besar constituency broadcast, PAP candidate Dr Wan Rizal Wan Zakariah said that he spent his years in the kampong, chasing chickens, climbing trees and in the HDB he played sports, that's how he ended up in normal stream in secondary school. What he is missing is just lepak play guitar at void deck.

Netizens have pointed out that he was painting the perfect picture of the Malay stereotype.

Is it necessary to play up the stereotypical image of a Malay boy and worse, suggest that as the reason he got into normal stream in secondary school? What's wrong with normal stream? Not elite means no good?

By getting the PAP candidates to bring in their so-called humble backgrounds and cham rags-to-riches stories, the PAP is just turning the common people off and sounding even more patronizing by portraying themselves as "role models".

The PAP has seriously lost its way and just doesn't know how to connect with the ground. The overuse of the humble background narrative is simply cliche and isn't going to help. It is just going to alienate the people more.

The PAP is outdated and out of ideas. It is doubtful the new slate of candidates who fit their elite profile can produce good and creative ideas for the country, for the people

GE2020: Dr Tan Cheng Bock Gets Heckled During Walkabout

While Dr Tan Cheng Bock was doing a Progress Singapore Party (PSP) walkabout at the Redhill area, a tattooed man in blue suddenly went up Dr Tan Cheng Bock and started shouting at him in Chinese. The man was also seen to be gesturing rudely at Dr Tan.

In the video, the man was raging and making accusations about PSP. He said that politics should be fair for everyone and not for slandering and criticising. When Dr Tan Cheng Bock politely started to move away, the man scolded Tan Cheng Bock of being rude for walking away even though he had not finished speaking adding how "you want us to support you yet you don't want to listen to the citizens' grievances."

Dr Tan Cheng Bock and his entourage responded to this incident in a cool and calm manner.

The man in blue was clearly not wearing his face mask properly during this confrontation, potentially flouting Covid19 safety measures. It is unsure what sparked the incident, but this is not the first time PSP was heckled. A few days back, prominent PSP member Lee Hsien Yang was similarly shouted at during a walkabout.

PAP, even though it is a open secret that the People's Association is your running dog on the ground, even though you deny it, you don't have to make it this obvious right? Sending your manifestos along with masks to resident using envelopes bearing the PA logo?

Who's the Minister who said that PA is non-partisan? Oh, Chan Chun Sing.

“The People’s Association does not allow any political activity or canvassing on our premises or in our activities and we certainly do not mobilise anyone for any political party,”

If this is not political activity or canvassing, or mobilising support for a political party, I don't know what is.
