Malaysian Airlines flight MH148 had just taken off from an airport in Melbourne when "engine fire" forced the plane to do a U-turn and return to the airport.
Ground control was on standby with fire engines on site, but thankfully the plane managed a safe landing at about 3PM local time.
Passengers reported hearing an announcement from the captain about technical difficulties with the plane. They were told that they would return to the airport and that all passengers were told to buckle up and remain seated.
Plane tracking software showed the Airbus 330 circling Melbourne airport several times before turning back and landing successfully.
Airport authorities say that the plane has been grounded and is undergoing investigations.
