Dear ASS,
It looks like PAP will be fighting a war on three fronts in the upcoming general elections.
On the Eastern front, there is a resurgent WP which is in position to seize Fengshan and East Coast GRCs. It is also possible that WP could win Marine Parade GRC.
The main battlegrounds of this GE will be Marine Parade and East Coast. All eyes will be there. People will anxiously watch, wondering if the retired Goh Chok Tong can win his last battle.
In the West and Central areas, SDP is in position to give a close fight in Holland-Bukit Timah GRC (previous result 39.92%) with Prof Tambyah in the team, as well as in Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC (new GRC created, no $8 Khaw and pro PAP areas like Woodlands and Admiralty) and in Bukit Batok SMC.
This time, SDP is not dismissing house visits as a relic of the past like they did before. This gives the SDP a chance to improve its results, if not win.
The entry of Roy Ngerng changes dynamics too by creating a third front. Roy Ngerng is disliked by many of us, including me but I have to admit he has guts. His name is now known all over Singapore. He is infamous!
Han Hui Hui posted on her fb, saying that "If PM Lee does not come to Hong Lim Park, we will bring Hong Lim Park to PM Lee". (https://www.facebook.com/HanHuiHui/p...58995694123642)
This implies that Roy and possibly HHH will be contesting in Ang Mo Kio GRC under the Reform Party banner.
This is all because the court cases against the duo have yet to be concluded and this means neither are bankrupts or have been fined yet! Moral of the story: If you can eliminate an opponent or pest, you should do so early. What goes around come around.
This puts pressure on PM Lee in his own backyard and he will have to waste time dealing with the allegations from the duo. If he is kept busy, he will be less able to interfere at the other constituencies. Now Roy isn't scared of being sued since he ALREADY got sued! So he is free to say whatever he likes in PM Lee's own GRC!!
Roy will certainly lose. But he will definitely get his deposit back. If a weak, hastily-formed RP team led by Alex Tan could garner over 30% of the votes in Ang Mo Kio GRC at the last GE, then a team with a famous member like Roy Ngerng can certainly do better. It will be embarrassing if the Prime Minister cannot even get 70% of the votes in his own constituency against a man he is currently sueing.
