Speaking to the Press after the end of tough Opposition talks to avoid multi-cornered fights, People's Power Party veteran politician Goh Meng Seng had this to say about the Worker's Party withdrawal from the latest crunch talks.
Mr Goh said: "Yes, it is really regrettable that WP didn't attend the meeting.Singapore is a small country which depends very much on building diplomatic ties all over the world. Diplomacy is the most important skill we need politically for our long term survival.
Every political party and politician should learn about the importance of Diplomacy. If such small negotiation also cannot handle, how can we convince Singaporeans that we are capable to run Singapore one day with the necessary diplomatic skills?"
Could WP have better managed their communications with the other "smaller" Opposition parties? Do Singaporeans want to see WP compromising with the others? Or more prefer to see the others bending to WP's will to win the upcoming elections?
