The National Solidarity Party's organising secretart Spencer Ng confirmed that they are still committed to contesting in Macpherson SMC despite Steve Chia's withdrawal from the elections. He shared that after a meeting, the CEC decided to contest Macpherson and would stick to its guns.
This announcement contradicts the Facebook announcement by NSP council member Steve Chia where he stated his withdrawal and urged the Workers Party to send a good candidate to take down Macpherson SMC.
Spencer Ng said: "We've been there for 10 years and we want to go back because many residents had requested that we do".
This is the third reversal from NSP within the span of a week.
