The People’s Action Party (PAP) has officially unveiled today its candidates for East Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC) who will contest the upcoming General Elections (GE).
Incumbent PAP members Lim Swee Say, Lee Yi Shyan, Maliki Osman and Jessica Tan were unveiled as the party’s slate for the GRC, which has been downsized from a 5 to 4-member constituency.
Former Minister for Transport Raymond Lim, who was part of the 5-man team that won in 2011, would be retiring from politics to spend more time with his family. He was first elected as an MP in 2001. His Fengshan ward has been carved out as a single member constituency.
In 2011, the PAP team won with 54.83% of the vote against the Workers’ Party that featured Gerald Giam and Png Eng Huat. WP has already declared it will once again contest East Coast GRC this year.
