After weeks of being plagued by internal problems, the National Solidarity Party (NSP) appears to have finally straightened its affairs and resumed its war path towards the General Elections (GE). According to mainstream media, the NSP would appoint a new secretary-general Lim Tean, a legal consultant educated in Cambridge, and repeated its promise to announce its candidates on Nomination Day (1st September) tomorrow.

Mr Lim, formerly a partner at Rajah and Tann, was first introduced during the NSP's walkabout at Tampines Group Representative Constituency (GRC) earlier this month. He will fill the position after Ms Hazel Poa, the former secretary-general, resigned from the party over differences with central executive committee members who wanted to contest in Macpherson.

When contacted, NSP president Sebastian Teo said the party will introduce its new acting secretary-general and its slate of candidates on Nomination Day on Tuesday.

NSP had announced that it would contest Tampines GRC, Sembawang GRC, as well as MacPherson and Pioneer SMCs.

Several NSP members, including NSP organising secretary Spencer Ng, Kevryn Lim, Eugene Yeo and former Member Of Parliament Cheo Chai Chen — all touted as potential candidates — gave out flyers at Sembawang and Woodlands MRT stations yesterday morning. Other new faces present included Mr Yadzeth Haris and Mr Nicky Tan.
