CAN THE PAP BE TRUSTED TO "OWNSELF CHECK OWNSELF"?

The PAP, especially Goh Chok Tong, claims during the GE 2015 campaigning that Singapore doesn’t need Opposition as the PAP can check itself..”ownself-check-ownself”

How many Singaporeans who are not familiar with Corporate Governance are taking in by such PAP claim and decided to trust the pap and so voted for the pap in GE 2015. Can we truly believe that the pap can “ownself-check-ownself? Just look at the following cases:

1. Charles Chong was reported in the Chinese Press that Punggol East TC had a surplus of >$1m when it was handed to Workers’ Party. When Low Thia Kiang showed the PE TC had a deficit of $283K in 2013, Charles Chong claimed that he was misquoted and that he meant Pasir Ris TC had a surplus of >$1m. If that was so, PE TC should not be in deficit when it was handed over to WP. So can we turst Charles Chong? Can we trust PAP to do self checks?

2. Ng Eng Heng promised to come out with a “definitive clarification” to prove that LTK was wrong. Today is 6 days after GE 2015. Where is the promised “definitve clarification”? Can we trust NG Eng Heng? Can we trust the PAP to do self checks?

3. GCT attended only one Parliamentary session from 2011 to 2015. What happened to PAP’s code of conduct to its MPs? Was action taken against GCT for breaching PAP’s MP code of conduct? Can we trust GCT to speak up for his constituents? Can we trust PAP to do self check?

4. PAP’s code requires PAP MPs not to take too many Directorships so that they do not neglect their constituents. PAP MP Yeo Guat Kwang has 64 Directorships. Did YGK breached PAP’s code? If so, was YGK brought to task? Can we trust pap to do slef checks?

Can we trust the pap to “ownself-check-ownself” as it claimed it will do?
