Clouds of thick smoke clouded his vision as Senior Warrant Officer (SWO2) Ricominoroy Pornamah and his team dashed through the fiery inferno at Block 3019 Ubi Road. They were expecting to find office workers, but were shocked to find 2 women and a baby in the fire.
They quickly evacuated the women and the child to safety, but Ricominoroy was not done yet. He and his team ran back into the building and rescued 6 other trapped survivors before heat exhaustion got to him. He was conveyed to Changi General Hospital for treatment.
A separate team rescued a 10th survivor from the blaze.
The fiery Ubi blaze took place on 14th September last week.
