After its quarterly electricity tariffs review, SP Services announced on 1 October 2015 (Thursday) that electricity tariffs will fall by an average of 9.3 per cent for the next quarter of the year.
The tariff will decrease by 2.06 cent per kWh for Oct 1 to Dec 31. In real terms, the average electricity bill for families living in 4-room flats will fall by $8.78. This fall in tariffs in due to the lower cost of natural gas which fell 18.4% in Q3.
Electricity industry regulator, Energy Market Authority (EMA) has approved the reduced tariffs.
