Dear ASS,
Last week I was having soya bean curd at Potong Pasir central when I was approached by a middle-aged lady.
She asked if I could buy her a tuna puff and soya bean milk. I thought for a while then declined as I felt it was odd that she is so specific in asking what she wants. (Costs about $6)
After the lady left the cafe, the shop helper told me that the lady always asks people to buy food for her. When they offer to buy her something simple like plain croissant, she doesn't want and would insist on having only the expensive items.
I was told there was once an uncle took pity on the lady and brought her to the economic rice store and let her choose what she wants to eat. She ordered 3 chicken drum sticks and other dishes costing more than $10.
I would gladly buy someone a meal if he/she is unable to afford. But I don't think it is right to take advantage...
