The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) announced unemployment for Singaporeans and SPR rose for the 2nd quarter in a row on the back of weak economic growth due to the sluggish global economy. The adjusted unemployment rate for citizens and SPR was 3% up from the 2.5% in March. This is the highest unemployment rate since 2010.
The unemployment rate for Singaporeans was 3.1% up from the 2.6% in March. The total number of people employed in jobs here was 3,644,000 as of last month.
