Have you been to place and been struck by an inexplicable feeling of fear or strange emotions - all for no apparent reason at all? Our reader shares with us one location where he believes connects the spirits of the dead to the world of the living.

Read his account here.

One place I'd like to mention is the tomb of the mysterious lady known only as Ms. Fan, as per the inscription on the gravestone, which one can find, with some difficulty, deep within MacRitchie Reservoir.

Virtually nothing concrete is known about her apart from the fact that she died in 1876.

I've heard a number of stories regarding why her grave is situated in such an isolated area.

The most famous says that she was killed by a rich man whom she refused to marry; he also arranged for the murder of her lover and attempted to ensure they would never be together in the afterlife by burying them far, far apart (her lover is supposedly buried in Bukit Brown Cemetery).

But all this is speculation, really.

Some people claim that Ms. Fan's presence can still be felt around her tomb.

I never felt anything of the sort when I went there, apart from a sense of sadness - the tomb was in a poor state of repair at the time.
