Dear Editors,
I am writing my Bad Experience with KidsHaven Furniture because I want to create public awareness to all. This is my first time that My Husband and I came across such unprofessional furniture merchant, who does not honour their products once it is sold and not sincere at all to refund nor replace us the defect piece of wardrobe nor make good but insisted their defected wardrobe was a new wardrobe and expected us to accept such poor condition of the wardrobe. This is unfair trade to customers and I hope everyone to be caution.
On 2 Nov 2015, my Husband and I went to KidsHaven Furniture outlet at Ubi Road to browse their range of kids furnitures at their showroom. We decided to purchase a pink two sliding doors wardrobe for our daughter by looking at their brochure because their showroom is too small. The wardrobe was still in its box and only one of its slide door was taken out to show us what is the design it looks like because we can only see it in one of their furniture magazine.
I noticed that one of its diamond deco had came off therefore I reminded the LadyBoss to check for me its quality and make sure it is in good condition when they deliver to us. LadyBoss assured us that definitely she will fix back the diamond and ensured no problem at all. We trusted that KidsHaven will ensure their product is of satisfactory quality and service, therefore we paid in full of the amount ($538) for the wardrobe and my daughter was looking forward to it.
The delivery supposed to be on 16 Nov 2015, however the delivery was delayed to 17 Nov 2015. Fine with the delay but the day which all of us looked forward to receive the pink wardrobe was a terrible outcome!
The guy who came to do the setup and installation is obviously NOT a professional. The entire wardrobe was shaking badly. When my MIL asked him why the door alignment is out and cannot close the sliding door properly, he simply replied to her that it was suppose to be like that. We were shocked with his reply and could see he just want to quickly finish it and leave as soon as possible.
The end product of a so-called "New" wardrobe is actually a non-satisfactory product which is defective.
Areas of wardrobe defective concerns
1-Installation and setup of wardrobe by non-professional personnel whereby entire wardrobe is shaking (non-durability and impose dangerous and unsafe to use).
2-Chip off and scratches on the wardrobe.
3-Diamond decors ugly glued whereby glue stain is visible
4-Both side of the door frame came off easily
5-Splitting crack on the side of the top wardrobe.
6-Sliding doors is out of alignment and has gaps that cannot close nicely.
7-One of the sliding door that cannot close and auto open itself.
8-Sliding door insulation fur strip badly attached and crooked with top half of it came off
9-Appearance and furnish is old and worn out with stains/dirt of the wardrobe that is not consider as a "new" piece.
10-Mouldy and yellowish on the top part of the wardrobe due to dampness
It was noticed that there is no delivery invoice given to us as well on the day of delivery. We knew it was useless telling the young guy who delivered the wardrobe our concerns, thus we called up and informed the LadyBoss but unfortunately she was out of town on a holiday and she get her staff, Mr.J, to attend to us.
I highlighted to Mr.J that the condition of the wardrobe is really bad and requested that either they replace us a new unit or another model of equivalent value or refund full amount. He mentioned they cannot refund me unless they do a site inspection, and assess the condition and if the condition is bad, they will refund. We are fine and let him come for the inspection to assess.
On the next day 18 Nov 2015, Mr. J came without asking my Husband what or where are the issues and without saying a word he started to fix the wardrobe; He tried to adjust back the doors but still cannot close the slide door nicely leaving small gaps; patch the chip off parts with unsightly patty; pull out the sliding door fur strip and simply just stick it back, still looked uneven and left black double-sided tape stains on the side; both side of the door frame simply just sticked them back with unsightly silicone; while the rest of the issues were left unresolved. I spoke to Mr.J on the phone and highlighted to him to get professional personnel to fix instead trying to figure out by himself making things worse.
The fix provided by Mr.J was done in such hasten and unacceptable way. The scratches and crack were still there. The wardrobe is still shaking badly. I was very disappointed that Mr.J said it is suppose to lean against the wall so that it will shake because he claimed it is a "Wall" wardrobe. What kind of lame joke is this? I told him this is not my first time buying slide doors wardrobe and none has this kind of problem whereby the doors still leave small gaps and not aligned and shaking badly as in the recorded video. He insisted his wardrobe is not a defective one even though with all these issues. I can't believe some people can come to such extreme that they have their conscience eaten.
We waited for the LadyBoss to be back from her holiday 19 Nov 2015 and left a whatapps to her. When she replied, I requested the LadyBoss to come down to see the bad condition of the wardrobe at site and discuss with us face to face but she replied that her staff, Mr.J, already assessed and been there yesterday and sufficient, thus no need for her to come. We sent her photos of the issues of the wardrobe that still exist and requested that either they replace us a new unit or another model of equivalent value or refund full amount but she replied that there is nothing major here to warrant for a new unit nor a full refund. I felt really disgusted with such irresponsible seller, and she is not apologetic at all with such a poor quality and service to customers. She did not even bother to offer to make good all the issues and tell me she just want a closure.
It is very obvious that she just can't be bother and of no business ethnics at all.
The fact that the whole wardrobe was shaking was so dangerous whereby you do not know when it will just collapse on you, and it does not function what a wardrobe suppose to be, is still nothing "major" to her aspect.
LadyBoss offered 2 choices to us:
Choice 1: 10% discount (Refund us $53.80) No sincere at all with this 10% bullshit crap.
All these terrible wardrobe disaster and our stress/agony is only worth $53.80? This is what you called very irresponsible seller attitude. How can I keep such a dangerous and unsafe wardrobe for my 7 years old daughter to use whereby it is shaking?
Choice 2: $150 transportation fees to send back the wardrobe to them, refund $388.
Why do I need pay for the stupid $150 transport fees when I have not even use their lousy wardrobe? This is so crazy and unreasonable.
We tried to reason to her and send her more photos but I guess talking to her is totally useless. This kind of seller has no heart, no soul, not human but just monsters. This is obviously unfair to us. The bad attitude and service provided really put me off. The wardrobe is dangerous to use and sliding doors that leave gaps for small insects.
When we questioned her if the wardrobe was a "new", she replied that yes it is a new piece that it is in her store in that condition from day of purchase till point of delivery. Well, who knows how long it has been sitting in the store before we came and what happened to the definition of "new" here means. If it is "new", how to explain the condition of the wardrobe in the photos. New has another meaning now...
I can only count myself unlucky to buy from them and to create awareness to all my friends to share my bad experience to as many people, friends, families, relatives, to be really caution who you are buying your furnitures from. Words of advice, buy from big furniture company, they have better reputation that comes with better quality and services. At least, they will honour what they sold. Not a bit like these monsters. I still believe karma will pay the LadyBoss and Mr.J a visit some fine day.
Hope these pictures and video of the wardrobe condition say a thousand words.
Now, what can Lemon Law and CASE helps me?
