On Nov 20, I was in a train cabin when I was inappropriately touched.
When the suspect alighted at Bedok MRT Station, I trailed him and quickly identified him to a Certis Cisco officer. The officer made a feeble attempt to stop the suspect by simply addressing him, making no attempt to physically block his way. The suspect simply walked away after making eye contact.
Despite my pleas, the security officer said there was nothing he could do, as the suspect had his earphones on and he "looked normal".
This incident raises the question of the legal authority vested in third-party security providers, such as Certis Cisco. Who should MRT passengers run to in times of distress or a security threat?
