Dear Editors,
This serve as a warning to all ladies who are taking alone at night. Around 2.10AM, 5th Dec 2015. I took a yellow taxi from Nex area to Toa Payoh North home. Upon boarding, I told the taxi driver that I am going to Toa Payoh North near Bradell Mrt and he didnt reply, so apparently I presume he knows where I am heading.
However, along the way, he spoke to me and said, "next time just tell toa payoh north, don't need to mention bradell". I didn't reply anything since I was tired.
Upon reaching, about to turn into the carpark, he still bring up the matter again, and again I didnt want to reply much to him as I just want to get home and rest. When the taxi finally reach the destination, suddenly this taxi driver turn around and scolded me "why you don't don't know how to say thank you when people teach you!!!"
Again, i kept my cool asking him how much the fare and he kept blabbing away. Finally, when I got to pay the fare, I got off ignoring him and he suddenly alight from his taxi and walk very near to me (probably half a arm length), pointing his finger at my face and scolded me 'idiot and bastard'.
I was totally shocked by his sudden violent action towards a lady and it was late at night and I was worried for my safety and I hurried my steps home. This was a very scary moment with a taxi driver.
I want to warn all ladies out travelling at night to be very careful of this taxi by the number of SHC7099J, taxi driver is dark tone skin and about 1.75M tall approximately. I think he got sign of violence and his gesture was about to slap me if I didnt walk away fast enough.
I should have listen to my friends to stop taking taxis and use Uber or Grabcar instead. Lastly, because everything too sudden, I had only manage to snap shot the car plate number as I am worried he will beat me if I take video or photo of him.
I will from now on.
