Lowest job growth since 2009
I refer to the article “Job growth for first nine months of 2015 at lowest since 2009” (Today, Dec 15).
It states that “The number of new jobs created for the first nine months of this year has fallen to its lowest since 2009.
In the latest Ministry of Manpower (MOM) labour market report for the third quarter, total employment from January to September grew by 16,200 jobs.”
Breakdown of jobs growth?
What is the breakdown of the 16,200 jobs growth into Singaporeans, PRs and foreigners?
Most of the job growth went to non-S’poreans?
Since the “Overall seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 2 per cent. Compared to the last quarter, unemployment rose to by 0.2 percentage point to 3 per cent for residents and 3.1 per cent for citizens” - does it mean that most of the job growth went to foreigners and PRs– as the citizens and residents’ unemployment rates increased by 0.2 per cent whilst the overall unemployment rate (including foreigners) remained unchanged?
Reciprocate trust with more transparency?
Since the people have given their trust and mandate – shouldn’t we reciprocate by being more transparent?
