YOUNG BOY SPOTTED DRINKING BEER AT BOON LAY HAWKER CENTRE

Dear Editors,

I was at Boon Lay market for dinner when I spotted a young boy, barely 10 years old drinking left over Carlsberg from the bottle. His adult caregivers were nonchalant about his actions. They did not stop the child from drinking their beer.

The adults were engrossed in their conversation and paid no heed to the boy's actions. I was appalled and wanted to speak to the adults but my wife stopped me from doing so. Other diners saw what happened but did not speak up too, only carried on eating their food.
