According to a media statement, the National Parks Board (NParks) of Singapore is now working with the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) to investigate the alleged poisoning of a large number of cats in Pasir Park.
Facebook posts first appeared on the CWS Facebook but subsequently went viral after a concerned cat owner shared the postings with this website and other media outlets. According to CWS, the cats could have eaten poisoned fish crumbs placed at several areas in the park. It added that many poisoned birds were also spotted alongside the dead cats.
CWS and NParks have convened an urgent meeting to find out if any tenants at the Park had hired pest control operators.
