District Court Judge Jasvender Kaur has sentenced Amos Yee to be remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for 2 weeks while a report on his mandatory psychiatric treatment is done. His next court date is on 6th July.
According to today's proceedings, teenage blogger Amos Yee was found mentally and physically suitable to undergo reformative training. The doctor who assessed Amos Yee however, found that the teenager may be suffering from autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
A clinical definition of autism spectrum disorder says ASD sufferers are usually characterized by poor social communication skills, as well as restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities.
Amos Yee's parents turned up early this morning to see their son in court. Amos's mother, Madam Mary Toh, arrived shortly after Amos' father Mr Alphonsus Yee. She was seen wearing a white T-shirt with a #FreeAmosYee message showing a picture of Amos in a banana shaped submarine.
