Dear A.S.S,
I am a Singaporean woman married to a Caucasian white male. We have been married for 15 years and we are the parents of 2 wonderful girls.
Often, when I am shopping in town with my husband, I get looks of disapproval. People give us condescending looks. It feels like they think that I am some working girl whom this white guy just randomly picked off the street. Those dirty looks will only go away when we are joined by our daughters. People then avert their gaze without even looking apologetic.
I don't wear a lot of bling. I suppose a wedding ring alone is not suffice. Even my daughters have caught people giving us those unkind looks. I don't think they should be subjected to these unspoken yet in your face judgements.
It is the 2016. Mixed marriages are nothing new. Stop being so judgemental!
