Singaporean runners Mr Ong Tze Boon, 47 and his cousin Mr Ong Yu-Phing, 46 ran seven marathons, in seven continents, over seven consecutive days last month.
The duo participated in the World Marathon Challenge where they ran a total of 295km and withstood temperatures ranging from -15 to 25 degrees Celsius. They ran alongside participants from Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Morocco, and United States of America. And they are not hanging up their running shoes just yet!
The Ongs will take on another marathon in the North Pole in April. With these grueling runs, the cousins are looking to raise funds and awareness for five charities that support mental health; Caregivers Alliance Limited, Samaritans of Singapore, Alzheimer's Disease Association, We Care Community Services and Singapore Association for Mental Health.
Previously, 3 other Singaporeans have attempted this feat. However, the marathons were not held consecutively.
