A 17 year-old boy was knocked down by a SMRT bus when he attempted to cross a road at the junction of Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3 and Choa Chu Kang Way while distracted by his mobile phone.
Bus service 307 was traveling along its route when it struck the boy at about 4.20PM on Friday.
After the accident, the bus driver alighted and was seen crouching on pavement talking on his phone after the accident.
A couple who were passing the area on their motorbike also stopped to help the boy. They accompanied the boy, who was semi-conscious, until paramedics arrived.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that a male teenager had been sent to hospital via ambulance with head injuries on 19th February. Investigations are ongoing.
