In a missing person report posted on Facebook recently, a Caucasian middle aged man has reportedly gone missing in Singapore after completing his working contract here.
Vince Welensky, a 43 year old UK national, was due to return home on 31st January this year but contacted his wife, Liz, to inform her that he had missed his flight but was trying to rebook his flight and would see them soon. Shortly after, he became uncontactable despite repeated attempts by his family to reach him.
Vince's disappearance has prompted speculation of foul play online, with some netizens comparing this case to the unfortunate demise of Dr Shane Todd, an American engineer who died under mysterious circumstances in Singapore in June 2012. In Dr. Todd's case, Singapore authorities said that Dr Todd had committed suicide, though his family insists that he was murdered, possibly in connection with the work he had been doing at the Institute for Micro Electronics ("IME") for the Chinese telecom company Huawei.
According to an online source, Vince worked as a Liquidity Product Manager for Citibank in Singapore.
Readers who have information about Vince's whereabouts are encouraged to contact his family in the email below.
