On Friday (11 March 2016), former Presidential candidate Dr Tan Cheng Bock declared his intentions to once again run for the Presidency in Singapore.
This after he shared in a Facebook post on 9 March 2016 that "Many of my friends and supporters have asked if I intend to contest in the forthcoming Presidential elections in 2017. I owe them an answer".
In PE2011, Dr Tan Cheng Bock narrowly lost to the PAP-backed candidate Dr Tony Tan by a razor thin margin of 0.34% vote share. He garnered a commanding 738,311 votes, just 7382 votes shy of Dr Tony Tan's percentage.
