GOVT TO MONITOR &'BAN' DISRESPECTFUL IMAGES OF LEE KUAN YEW?

Dear ASS Editors,

Blogger Mr Brown posted this ridiculous MCCY guidelines for the use of founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's name and images. Isn't the government going overboard by implementing such restrictive guidelines? Surely Mr Lee Kuan Yew's images and namesake isn't the property of the Government to dictate?

Why is a government agency like Ministry of Culture, Comunity and Youth getting involved in this? Is MCCY overstretching its authority?

Is this the precursor to a ban on anything and everything critical about Mr Lee Kuan Yew? Only the good stuff about Mr Lee can be shown, since everything must be treated with dignity and respect.

Singaporeans can no longer player jokes on Mr Lee and cannot satire him. Is this a clampdown on our freedom of speech?
