I took the photograph at 2.37 pm. I was passing a void deck when I saw that rare sight - of a Muslim praying at a void deck with the bare essentials; just himself.
No songkok. No sejadah (prayer mat). No "proper" clothing.
At 2.37 pm on a Friday, it would have been about one hour after the end of the weekly compulsory Friday Prayer. I guess the man must have missed the congregation but nonetheless performed the early afternoon prayer by himself.
There is a mosque about 400 metres away. He could have walked to the mosque and performed his prayer "properly" at the newly renovated and expensive mosque, making use of the facility for his ablution and pray in relative comfort.
I guess again that he must be hard-pressed for time. No matter under what condition, it is good to know that he makes time to give thanks to the Almighty.
