Agreement to 'DEAR PREGNANT LADIES ON MRT, IT'S HARD TO KNOW IF YOU ARE FAT OR EXPECTING'
I am very agree to this writer who voice out we MRT commuters because I been in this situation before.I remember it was a peak hour morning when I was going to school.I was sitting on 'reserved seat'.When the train reached Jurong East Mrt station, the crowd swamp in.
In front of me there is an dark skinned lady(i not sure whether is indianor malay office lady). She was wearing tight black long clothing. She is very big size and show her whole body curve as she wearing very tight clothing. It was really very difficult to guess whether she is fat or pregnant.Usually Pregnant lady wear 'flats' shoe but she was wearing high heels.
I was worried that people will look at me not giving up my seat.I decided to hint her and give up her seat.I stood up and stand beside her.She gave me a despise look and she did not take up the seat.I look around people, they were look helpless too.I already given up my seat,I did not want to sit back.End up that seat was not unoccupied until next station.
It is really a very hard guessing game sitting in the MRT.
Not only Pregnant or fat ladies.
1) Senior citizen
Some senior citizen look very healthy and sporty.Especially the ones wear sport shoes or office wear. Many people feel indecisive whether should give up their seat. Some senior citizen very 'smart' who always want to sit, they will hang their Ez-link to show everyone that he/she is senior citizen no matter whether he/she is needy to the seat.
2) Parents with small children.
How to see/guess small children age that should be given the seat?Sometime small children who are active running and jumping around. Some want to look out at the window despite people give out 'reserve seat',they are still unhappy unable to look out at the window.
3) Parent with baby stroller
What type of parent should be given the seat?As we know there are many young parents around. Some of them want to be seated. Some of them don't want. How can we guess?
Sometime I really hope 'SMRT' or 'Singapore Kindness Movement' can come a regulation that we commuters should give up our seats to who?
