Dear ASS Editors,
Every weekend, Parkway Centre at Marine Parade Central is crowded with children attending classes at the many enrichment centers in the building. And it is always a pain waiting for the lifts at the ground floor.
While most parents and children patiently queue up outside the lifts, there will be some inconsiderate parents who will cut queue from the sides thereby depriving others who are in the queue to get into the lifts.
This morning I told a lady very nicely to please join the queue. She argued back, "There is a queue meh? Then I'm also queuing up what! Just that I'm queuing at the side!" She was standing in the red area in the pic...
I hope that by bringing this matter up on social media, these parents can show more courtesy and join the queue in an orderly manner. Pushing and shoving is dangerous especially when there are so many young children around. Remember the case where someone's hand is severed by the lift? What if this happens to one of our children?
Besides sending our kids to enrichment classes to improve on their academics, we should also teach them social skills and basic courtesy. I have submitted a sketch rather than a photo so as to protect the privacy of all the children.
