This happened at Toys "R" Us. My daughter was sitting on this car, then a boy about 6 years old said to her, "Shut up, you are very loud, you stupid girl". Fyi, she was just going, "vooooom voooom voooom". So I said, "excuse me, where are your manners?"
"He then said, "your baby is stupid and loud". Before I could say anything, he went ahead and hit his maid really hard many times, kicking her in the stomach. His mother did NOTHING.
I raised my voice at him, "boy, you should not hit your qieqie (thats what i heard him call her)," and pulled him away. And what he said next made me so upset: "My mother pay for her, I can do anything i want." His mother heard what he said and DID NOTHING.
The only thing she did was glare at me when I raised my voice at her son. I urge you to teach your kids respect, it doesn't mean a person is a maid or a foreign worker of any race or maybe even a homeless person, they still deserve respect.
I am afraid of the person that child will become. The minute you see a child hitting your helper, reprimand him because that action is wrong. You have to be the example you want your child to become. Empathy is the most priceless gift you could ever give your child.
