Dear ASS,
In Civil Service, we have different ministries and Stat. Boards. Our bonuses for mid-year and end-year are pegged to the economy and we get the same rate.
However, I am puzzled as to why our Performance Bonus are of a different rate. A 'C' grade in MINDEF can get an officer 3 to 3.5 months for bonuses, whereas in MOE it is only worth 1.5 to 2 months. I understand that job scope if different, but it is already differentiate via the salary system.
Why are some ministries/stat boards of a lesser priority in remuneration via PB? Shouldn't we be credited on the same scale across the Civil Service? Personally, I find it an unfair system. It feels like a double whammy - less pay and less bonus.
The government should provide an explanation/rationale for their policies for such differing scales.
