Hi A.S.S.,
Seeking your advice. Recently my Muslim neighbor died, leaving behind his wife, children and many grand children.
He was a very nice and friendly man to me and my family since young. During CNY he even gave my baby nephew angpao. He had been battling cancer for a period of time.
As a non-Muslim, how can I help? I do not want to accidentally do something insensitive during this period of time but I would like to help them.
As his eldest son is returning with his wife on a flight from overseas, I was wondering how fast must a Muslim person be buried? I worry that he may not be able to make it in time for the burial.
Finally, how do I express my sympathy as a non-Muslim and what should I do to show support? Is sending flowers or a sympathy card appropriate?
Thanks in advance.
Justin
