I'm here by to report to you an incident that happen to my own 3 year old nephew today.
I was walking home after fetching my nephew from school when this incident happened. Me and my nephew were walking on the pedestrian walk way which is just outside Bukit Panjang government High School in Chua Chu Kang Avenue 4. It was around 7.05 p.m. This place is usually very crowed because it is attached to a bus stop for the students and some workers even waits at this area for their transport.
While me and my nephew walking, Then came a lady on her bicycle in a very high speed. There is way for cyclists on the opposite road by the way. She came in a High speed and hit my 3 year old nephew on his chest and the small kid flew and fell.
There were eyewitness who saw this came to help my nephew. When I was helping my nephew all that she could say was sorry.
I'm really helpless.
Is there any way for pedestrians to protect themselves against errant and dangerous cyclists? If a person gets hurt by a cyclist, without any license plates or insurance coverage, who is going to protect the pedestrians?
