After watching the lift CCTV footage in Court, the father of Benjamin Lim disputed the police's version of what happened in the lift. He felt that as Benjamin bent down to pick up his mobile phone, his hand brushed the girl's skirts and there was no bodily contact between Benjamin and the girl who alleged molest.
According to the official account of events by ASP Mohamed Razif, Benjamin followed the girl into the lift on 25 January. As the lift went up, Benjamin moved closer to the girl before he dropped his phone. As he picked it up, the girl felt a tap on her buttocks and saw Benjamin's hand moving away from her.
The State Coroner has noted the two different account of the Investigation Officer and Benjamin's father. The Coroner's Inquiry will continue today.
