Unity Primary School in Choa Chu Kang is suffering from a rat infestation in its staff room and teachers have been urged to be on guard against rats.
In a circular dubbed "Exercise: Goodbye Rats", it advised teachers to stay away from the staff room while a pest control from Dynamic Pest Control tackles the problem.
According to reports from the press, rat droppings and pee could be found on teacher's tables and this problem has been ongoing for several months. Some even discovered that the rodents bit through plastic containers to eat their food.
Despite glue traps and rat poison being used, the problem persisted. Apart from the staff room infestation, some rat faeces have been spotted in the classroom as well. Teachers are now advised to not consume, keep or dispose of room in the staff room so that the problem can be eliminated.
Pest control in the staff room is in full swing.
