SBS, PLEASE TRAIN YOUR BUS DRIVERS PROPERLY BEFORE PUTTING THEM ON ROAD!

Hi all Singapore stuff

Sharing my encounter what happen when a SBS transit bus (service number 147) breakdown at opp Burlington Sq (bus stop code 07517)

This begin with the bus driver who is clearly clueless, confuse, poorly trained, non English speaking prc driver who cannot in English and do not communication with the passenger and endangering passenger life

As usual alighting passenger would alight first. Next follow by passenger would start to board. When I boarded the bus i notice the bus engine was switch off, I did not think much and tap my ezlink card and board the bus as usual as there no instruction by bus driver

I go to the upper deck and found a seat. After a few min of the bus unable to start the engine and the bus is getting stuffy nearly 40 to 50 passenger get down the bus with the reader not displaying the breakdown mode. They just scan the ezlink and get off the bus.

For me I went straight to the bus driver to request him (3 Times) to change the reader to breakdown mode and to Collect a complimentary ticket (I was only one when request him 3 times to give me a complimentary ticket and another passenger ask me I told her she should wait until the bus reader display a breakdown mode then scan your ez link and to Collect a complimentary ticket) so out of 40 to 50 bus passenger only 2 collected the complimentary ticket and and I am the only 1 who tap my ezlink card when the reader change to breakdown mode) so before the reader change to breakdown mode there around 5 new passenger who try to board the bus and I am the who stop them from taping their ez link card why the driver did not stop the new passenger from boarding. I have no clue.

After the reader change to breakdown mode i collected the complimentary ticket and tap the read in breakdown mode. another bus passenger from the bus stop told the bus driver he have not display the Vehicle breakdown sign and for me I take the next bus service 166 and when I look out from the bus service 166 he was still looking for his Vehicle breakdown sign.

All this take around 10min and within the 10min the bus driver have not display the Vehicle breakdown sign thus endangering passenger life and only try looking for the Vehicle breakdown sign after another bus passenger from the bus stop inform him about it , he did not change the reader to breakdown mode and all passenger tap the ezlink card not on breakdown mode and not collected the complimentary ticket. A clueless, confuse, poorly trained, did not inform the passenger and and he only change after I asked him for the 3rd time within the 10min, by then everyone have left the bus while I still waiting for the reader to change and my complimentary ticket.

I have to tell your bus driver how to do his job. Please train your bus driver and communicate What a sad state when your bus passenger know better then your bus driver.
