Today is Bukit Batok by-election Nomination Day and PAP sycophants have fired their first low blow. They took a photo of SDP banner at 11:29 am this morning and accused SDP of breaching electoral rules.

Instead of reflecting on their own pettiness, they shamelessly accuse Dr Chee and SDP kiasi for putting up such banners before Nomination is confirmed. Come on lah PAP is the incumbent, what is that few hours head start going to affect the mighty PAP? Why nitpick on such little things to fix Dr Chee?

We Bukit Batok residents have eyes to see and we hate to see you PAP dogs bully the brace Dr Chee! Stop trying to win with such cheap tactics, you will not win! The time is here for Dr Chee to enter Parliament and fight for the issues that matter. Time for true democracy and freedoms to be restored to our beloved Singapore!

A Singaporean while on his way home from work had to endure the unbearable when a PRC man vomit in his MRT seat. The man blamed it on our dear Singapore government for bringing in so many PRC people which result in such disgusting inconsiderate public behaviour,

He lamented on Facebook: "Dear government..please bring in more PRC so that our ride home from a tiring day at work will be more uncomfortable.."

Others who saw the FB complaint chirped in and agreed that PRC individuals had many bad habits which were unacceptable to the regular Singaporean. Luckily there was one person who still found the stomach for jokes and cheekily chided the PRC man "If dont know how to drink, do drink laa.."

On the 15th April 2016, I viewed an online posting for a SMART TV on Craigslist. http://singapore.craigslist.com.sg/eld/5543905908.html.

“Vijay” had posted a generic image of the product in its box, along with details of the product, and, only a personal number with a tagline of - "WhatApp Me Here: 9120-4017".

Sent his ID for "assurance".

As so, I contacted Vijay and inquired if the product was in fact still available. Hours later, he replied, saying that it was. During our conversation, he told me that he too sold PS4 game consoles, and thus, I placed an order with him for products totally up to $900. He gave a convincing pitch, saying that they offer free delivery, which could be done within 3 hours of payment. There was no COD delivery available as “his Company” had to process the Sales Invoice, after payment has been made.

As someone who has made online purchases multiple times, internationally and locally, I have actually had transactions that required me to make payment before delivery could be processed. So I complied. “Vijay” claimed that he was operating from the (upon googling, now defunct) GadgetWorld's warehouse at Woodlands Ave 3. Since there was no COD option available, I had to do a bank transfer, which only made it possible for him to process the Sales Invoice and make the delivery. I made the transfer. To POSB account 418-45938-7 Savings, of a different holder name, "Arifur Rahmon".

For the next subsequent hour, he texted me back and forth claiming that his accountant, had to check whether the money was in the bank, which started to raise red flags. I had made an ATM transfer which is an immediate transaction, and recipients would be able to view the amount immediately upon completion of the transaction. He texted me finally, with a long message, saying that his accountant had called the bank (POSB / DBS) and had informed him that their (THE BANK) servers had crashed when I was making the transfer, and the transaction was not successful, and lastly, the golden words of “we did not receive the money you transfer”. “Vijay” conveniently added that the money would be "credited" back into my account back in 48hours. How believable. He then, refused to pick up any calls nor would he agree to any meet ups.

Well, human greed is ugly. “Vajay” kept pestering me for the next 2 days to make another transfer. Pestered to the point whereby he left countless messages and missed calls on my phone from as early to 730am to as late at 11pm. He claimed that just as long as i made the 2nd transfer, they would surely deliver my ordered goods. With the "convincing" clause that he wants the best for his customer, that he just wants to deliver the products, they would deliver the products even at 12 midnight.

I went through the whole painstaking process of calling the bank; even going down to the bank to verify if the transaction had indeed went through. The accountants, whom I spoke to, confirmed that the transaction was successful, that the recipient had received the money. True enough, his word against POSB's, “Vijay” is an outright fraud!!!

POSB wasnt any much help either, claiming to be a bank of Singapore. Ultimately at the bank, the accountant, after consulting with his Manager, could only say, unapologetically - "Sorry we arent able to do anything as this was a voluntary transfer".

Hi, im a 33 years old mother of 2 kids aged 11 and 10...hubby is the sole breadwinner earning $1200 basic...driver...on bail with statutory rape case...lately he had an accident and company demanded that his salary got cut every month and he only brings back not more than $500..currently we are staying in a 3 room flat under bank loan..Recently I received a letter from lawyer with regards to evacute my home by 31st March 2016.With an arrears of $10,480 ...ive appealed for leniency from the bank staff on instalment plan and its approved without defaulting our monthly payment of $880/- and on top of it plus $600/- sum up total of $1480/-..I have arrears with Town Council at $500++ and Singapore Power Supply $2000++..With this kind of debts everyday goes by very slowly for us not having enuf money to even eat a proper meal..

Previously I went for ligation on 2009 to sacrifice for my family back then with lots of financial situation..My parents are already aged,Dad with severe heart problem and Mum just got discharged from ICU and she cant walk..Im currently looking after my mum as she cant be alone..my parents was against me signing up for HOPE SCHEME but I cant do much but to go ahead with this and regretted doin so..im so stressed up I don't know what to do and where to seek for help..Some Organization kept asking me to work even tough I have a caregiver letter signed by the doctor. But if anything happens to mum when shes alone,i will never forgive myself..this situation on financial is making my sinking in on my eldest son whom would be sitting for his PSLE this year,it had come to a stage where he has depression..(kids went to school without any pocket money and depends on FAS ezlink pass when purchasing food for recess)..i had gone to SSO without any single cents on my hand,i walked from home to apply for financial help,it had already been 6 weeks even though she said she would help me expedite my case..still thers no respond.SP wanted to minimize my water and eventually they did that yesterday when im not home looking after mum..again I try appealing for instalment of $200/- but again before agreeing on that amount they asked me to pay more and even gave me sarcastic remarks...I seek sincere help from anyone whom has it in their hearts to help me out during my darkest days..it seems that everyone looked down on us and im helpless and I hope theres some light to ease my financial situation...from bottom of my heart I would like to thank GIVEASIA for giving me an opportunity to create a page and get help from all to bring back the smile on my kids face.. I saw this guy selling a pair of parrots for $200.

These parrots are wild parrots. Keeping them as pets will cause them to die early. I decided to message him. As you can see from the screenshot, he didn't care. He said he was free to do whatever he like with the birds.

He even added that he wasn't selling them for money because he has plenty of it. He added a racist slur saying that because I am Malay, I am poor.

I messaged him because I was concerned about the welfare of the parrots.

When did this become a race thing?

Just to share..

I was at Teh Tarek Bedok Central this afternoon.. After ordering my food I sat on e table and started eating my food.. While eating I observed an old Chinese lady was going fm table to table showing 2 fingers and rubbing her tummy.. No one bothered and showing sign to asked her to move away.

I realized tt she must be hungry and needed e money to eat so I called her.. I told her tt she can eat anything she wants and I'll pay for it including drinks.. She looked around and pointed to e Indian Rojak stall. I told her to go ahead and order.. As she was walking towards e stall I stopped eating. I went to e stall and passed a $10/- note to e guy cashier manning e stall.. I told him whatever she select just deduct fm here and if not enough pls tell me..

To my surprise e guy cashier manning e stall told me tt whatever she eats they charged $2/- only and returned $8/- back to me. I said really? He just smiled. I walked back to my table to continue eating. After awhile e old Chinese lady brought e food and sat on another table across mine and with a gesture thanked me. I saw her went to e drink stall bring a glass of ice water to drink bfor having e food. After I finish my food bfor leaving I walked to her and gave her $2/- and tell her tts it's for her diner.

Why I'm sharing this is tt as much as we spend so much money eating gud food, there's always pple out there who are underprivileged. If we ever been approached by someone who needs food please don't discount them. As much as we recommend those eating places and share on how gud eir food is.. I believe in return they should have tt policy of Paying it Forward.. I would like to commend Teh Tarek Bedok Central to set a $2/- basic meal with free ice water for e needy and underprivileged.. Kudos!

I have never ever thought I'll come to this.

My childhood never consisted of my parents - my mum was constantly in prison and my dad, well....I'm ashamed to say I'm an illegimate child. Raised by my aunties, uncles and my grandmother, my childhood was a constant void from parents love and good upbringing. The place I was raised in seemed like a constant warfare for money and a place for emotional and physical abuse - I never had good role models around me.

My grandmother was cheated off her money and house by her children. Though, my grandmother was lucky enough as she had enough savings to buy a second home. Unfortunately, one of my uncles (who was staying in NZ all the time but came back upon knowing his mother was on the verge of death) took the oppotunity to sell the house away after her demise. At a tender age of 17, I was kicked out of what was supposed to be my home and started living on the streets.

I was all alone. No money, no roof over my head, no one to support my education. I had no one to turn to. I was all my myself. I started doing odd jobs so I could have enough money for food - I was stringent on myself and spent money on a loaf of bread that can last me for two days. With my stringent spending, I found a cheap place to rent.

Things were not so bad as I started to work in the retail line. I saved money to get a diploma and I thank heavens that I managed to attain my diploma with flying colours. Upon my diploma, I started to work in banks; I started off as a lowly officer to a manager.

Earlier on, I mentioned my mother was in prison. She was in prison due to her addiction of drugs. I almost despised her initially that she, as an A level graduate (A level was a pretty high education for people born in 50s), was wasting her life away by dabbling in drugs. I found out the reason of her dabbling in drugs - she was constantly raped by her brothers when she was young (and back then, everyone knew but no one rendered any help) and the only way she found solace was drugs. Obviously, with time, she got addicted. Her old habits didn't die after her release. She continued to dabble in drugs.

When she came out, because she was my mother after all and I've always believed in filial piety, I got her to stay with me which leads to my situation now. When she was staying with me, she often caused a ruckus at home and was unfortunately, a public nuisance as well. The police often contacted me to inform me of my mother's arrest - I bailed her out. Most of the time, I tried to settle with the party (who thankfully agrees to not make a police report) by compensating them with money on the damage my mother has done. I was pretty dried up from my savings after a few years. My performance at work went downhill as well - if I were lucky, I would get about 2-3 hours of sleep at night. Most of the time, none at all. Due to my deteriorating performance, I was asked to leave.

Credit card bills were a constant headache. Without my knowledge, my mother would do a cash withdrawal of a few thousands to feed her drug addiction.

My mother passed away 3 years ago and I have managed clear a little of her debt. However, I do realize I need help - the debt can never be cleared. I currently owe about $70,000. Most of my pay goes to the repayment of debts my mother incurred in the past. It has came to the point where I am using the power top up key for electricity and water. My water pressure is on a constant low and showering requires 30 minutes of time.

I am no longer working in a bank as with such bad credit, I'll never be hired. I'm working as a sales person now with a basic salary of $2000 per month. Things doesn't get worse with my life's situation. I'm currently looking for a new job as the current company I am in is has financial problems and my pay has always been delayed. My livelihood depends on my pay, the debts I have to clear in order not to incur a late payment charge depends on my pay.

I'd like to find my happiness, get married and have kids to give them a wholesome childhood I never had. With debt, there's not much I can do - no money for house, wedding, wedding band etc. I'm 38 and she has waited too long. And for me, it's been too long since I'm stress free. Today, I am pleading the public to ask for help. I know I need help and I really hope the public will help me a little at

In January, a man revealed that his wife was having an affair with Singapore Idol Slyvester Sim.

That man was Ng Song Yang, 35 years old. Mr Ng passed away in his sleep the day before. He had been drinking before that.

It is understood that Slyvester Sim was supposed to launch his Mandarin single on 19 Jan. But on 12 Jan, news of his alleged affair with a 24 year old married singer broke. Then, Slyvester tried to clarify that they were only colleagues. He said that she was troubled by family problems and had texted him under the influence of anti-depressants.

Mr Ng and his wife filed for divorce in Dec 2015. The couple have a daughter. He had been depressed since the divorce. His mother said he had lost 7 kg since Jan.

A man committed suicide by jumping off a block in Ang Mo Kio yesterday afternoon.

Andrew Wang was 25 years old. He had failed his law internship last week. He was also depressed after breaking up with his girlfriend of 9 years.

Mr Wang was the singer of a local band called "These Boys Named Sue".

He was a fitness enthusiast and an avid body builder.

Why Dr Chee is many times better than Murali for residents of BB

1. 100% Commitment: Dr Chee will be a FULL TIME MP for BB and able to be fully committed to fellow residents of BB. But Mr Murali will hold a full time job as a top class lawyer who can easily earn a million per year - only likely less than 20% of his time as MP as will earn less than 20% of his income as MP say $200k per year while getting a million a year as a top notch lawyer.

2. Another independent voice in parliament for residents of BB as currently already about 81 PAP MPs w/wo David Ong. While Murali will be another follower in the parliament.

3. Dr Chee who stay in a humble 3/4 room HDB flat can fully understand what the average residents of BB where more than 96% stay in HDB flat and less than 4% in condo/private apartment/landed properties, etc. How can Murali understand 96% of fellow residents and voters of BB who stayed in HDB flats when his 1 year earning of say 1 million dollars can purchase a condo. However, most average income of BB residents staying in HDB flats may not ever able to earn a million dollars in their entire 30/40 years of their working life. Forget about saving much after paying high living cost, food, medical costs, etc and to be able to upgrade to condo/private apartment/landed properties, etc in their entire life of working!

4. Dr Chee can speak well both in English/Chinese/dialect(s) so provide a closer touch with more residents of BB directly where 74% are Chinese residents. . . and many more . . .

Hi SMRT, I see many complaints mostly on this page and just wanted to brighten up someone's day with this post. My son takes the train at Bishan station to school every morning and he looks forward to the train ride cos he gets to see his favourite friendly MRT Uncle Zainodin!

My son calls him Star Wars uncle because of the 'light saber' he carries around. Despite his age, he always squat and give my son a big hug. In the short 2min wait for the train, the two of them will chit chat and sometimes my son will show him his toys or books.

It may be a small gesture but Uncle Zainodin has brightened up my son's mornings and I just want to say thank you.

I propose a challenge.

Go to town. Ion, 313, Orchard Central, Wisma, Takashimaya - any mall in town. I want you to count how many Malay/Indian men and women featured on the posters.

Ok now out of town. Wherever you go in Singapore now open your eyes to it and really count. On the bus. On the train. On the commercials before the movie starts. On the newspapers. On the magazines.

As a young kid growing up in Singapore, I'd never see someone of my skin color rocking ads and headlines unless it's Singapore Idol Season. I couldn't entertain my first ambition of being an actor coz every role (although said open to all races) would go to the man with the Singaporean Look.

I do music, I do radio. I'm behind a microphone. If I had a dollar for every person that has come up to me saying "OMG I didn't know you're Indian!" I'd be able to afford a down payment for an HDB flat.

In the industry, I've had peers get turned down gigs because they were too "ethic looking". I don't watch Channel 8 or Vasantham but... off the top of my head I can name you 10 Chinese local celebrities (includes Rui En). Is it just me?

Maybe there isn't enough talented Indian and Malay celebrities. Or maybe we're not given a chance to see them.

Who's stopping them? Who's saying no to these people? Who's decided what the Singapore Look is?

I'm not celebrating Racial Harmony in Singapore till I get my answers and see some change. It's 2016. Do not get complacent. I represent the next generation that isn't gonna just keep quiet and nod my head and say it's all okay.

Racial Harmony isn't just about us getting along. It's equal opportunities. Equal chances to shine. I wanna see diversity.

I can smell the smoke and tell that something ain't right. Now I wanna see people move. Share that spotlight.

I understand why most Singaporeans want the PAP to form the government. It is partly due to the fact opposition parties have admitted that they are not ready to form the government.

This time round, like fate and destiny would have it, Mr David Ong is hit with an issue and the Bukit Batok residents are given a gem in Dr Chee Soon Juan. He is a changed man. My gut feeling is that barring unforeseen circumstances, the residents shall give their Blessings to this man. He will be one hell of a MP for you, the residents of Bukit Batok, as the man has promised to serve as a full-time MP. This is something Ah Mu won't be able to do because he is holding a day job.

If Dr Chee somehow managed to lose the by-election, it goes to show Sinkies are either too afraid of changes, like to repent or daft.

To make a simple analogy - Is iPhone 4 a good phone just because Apple Inc created it? Is Ah Mu automatically a splendid MP because he hails from the PAP?

Or would you stick to the tried and tested phones that withstood the beatings? Just like how Dr Chee Soon Juan braved all the storms before him?

A lot of Uber drivers have not received their incentive for last week. This is in spite of us calling them to remind them.

Their reply is that there is a "system error" and they REFUSE to pay us.

Dear ASS,

Today 27/5/2106 at about 3.38pm I meet one of the LTA vehicle and he stop on the yellow box which should let the car from small road to turn and the LTA officer of the driver stop in the yellow box which I can't turn out.

And den I take out my phone to take some photo of the officer den the officer take photo of me this happen at tuas cres ! And the officer who took photo of me still can smile look at that face !

Freedom of worship is a right enshrined in the constitution. We have been praying under the staircase at the capark of Regency Park Condominium for many years. We understand that it is the common property of the estate and we have kept the place clean and neat and it does not obstruct any human movement nor does it pose a safety hazard to anyone.

However, the condo manager, Ms Jennifer Peh from Saville property management pte Ltd managing agent has thrown our praying carpets and told us to pray outside the permises. When we appealed to let us use that little space under the staircase, she told us arrogantly "If you want to pray, go to the mosque". She even challenged us to "complain to your MUIS"

We work as personal drivers and have to be in the condo vicinity at all times, in case our bosses need our services. Even our bosses who are residents in the estate do not mind us praying under the staircase and our bosses feel that the harsh action and words of Ms Jennifer Peh is uncalled for. Where is the religious tolerance that the government keeps on promoting?
