Just a day after Minister Lui Tuck Yew announced an unexpected 1.9% public transportation fare reduction by the end of 2015, commuters on SMRT's North-South line experienced huge delays due to a train fault.
Due to the fault, trains were moving at snail pace and some commuters complained that even after 30 minutes of waiting, the trains did not move much. As a result, many commuters were unable to get on the platform and had to face long queues before being able to enter the gantries.
Singapore's world class transportation has done it again. Will this become a main thorny issue during the next General Election?
