Guys beware. I just nearly got scammed. Someone called on my house phone claiming to be from Microsoft saying that they found out that my computer has been hacked by hackers from China Japan and Europe.
These scammers were very convincing and eventually got control of my computer on their end. They were very slow and conscientious with their explanations and that kinda groped me into their scam. But when they said that I needed to pay 400 sing dollars an alarm bell rang and that's when I told them that I'll call Microsoft Singapore and confirm with them and the guy over the other end wasn't happy asking me not to switch off my computer or else all data would be wiped out.
I immediately switched off the computer and disconnected the internet cable to the desktop. Men called had Indian accents. Please help to spread this out. My friend verify the scam is real. You can google "technical support scam" about it, they call claiming to be from Microsoft e.g & trick you into running some commands that lets them access your PC remotely, mess it up & then charge you for repairing "this pre-existing" problem.
