Dear Editors,
i was boarding the mrt from Bedok and once I got into the cabin, seated in front of me was a mother and a daughter, the daughter seems to be in her early 20s. I was busy on my phone for about 2mins and when I looked up I realised the mother was asking her daughter about my gender orientation. (Fyi I'm a "butch" / "bung")
And they continued to exchange a few sentences and the mother was shocked that I'm a girl. To all the homophobics out there in sg, every single one in the LGBT community has their rights to be who they want to, they dress how they want to and by doing so, does not break any single law in Singapore.
There will always be homophobic people in the society but the least we expect from people like you is to not openly talk about or guess our gender in front of us not even speaking about acceptance.
We have the rights to dress up and be what we want, and that is beyond your control. So to this pair of mother and daughter, respect people's choice to be different and not judge.
Just to get a point across before people start scolding me if this ever gets viral, I'm not afraid of getting judge since I choose to be different but all I ask for is to not gossip right in front of me/us (the whole gay community) we breathe the same air, we eat the same food, I function just like how you do and I got a job which you probably couldn't do so what makes me different from you idk.
