What was meant to be a birthday celebration gave guests an unexpected nasty surprise.
Madam Chan had catered a buffet from Kuisine Catering for 30 people for her seven year old daughter's birthday celebrations last weekend. She had invited 34 guests on Saturday.
However by 3 am the next day, her husband started vomiting and had diarrhorea. Her family began to fall sick by Sunday afternoon.
Madam Chan then contacted the rest of her friends and realised that except one guest who did not eat the food, the rest had gone to hospitals or clinics to seek treatment. Doctors confirmed that they were suffering from food poisioning.
She immediately called the caterer who responded with a slew of questions but have not provided her with a valid explanation yet.
Kuisine is currently working with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Environment Agency (NEA).
The MOH, NEA and Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore have released a joint statement to inform the public that it is investigating the incident and that they have temporarily suspended the caterer's operations.
