With effect from 1 March 2016, all Police Officers from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) will be issued with a new warrant card. The new warrant cards will replace the existing warrant cards held by all regular, volunteer, Full time National Service Police Officers (PNSFs), Operationally Ready Police National Servicemen (PNSmen) as well as the Auxiliary Police Officers (APOs).
Apart from its new design, the new warrant card has enhanced security features to prevent identity fraud by impersonation as Police Officers. When the card is tilted at an angle, the holographic word “POLICE” will appear below the Officer’s photograph. On the right of the card, you will also see a vertical row of 5 holographic police crests. Please see photos below for the designs and security features of the new warrant cards for SPF Officers and APOs.
If you are approached by anyone claiming to be a Police Officer, look out for these security features in the warrant card. When in doubt, please call “999” for assistance.
