After Singapore's aspiring 4th telco MyRepublic announced it's unbeatable unlimited data plan, incumbent Singtel launched it's DataX2 plan which will double the data mobile plans for its post paid customers for a flat fee of $5.90.
This is in line with Singtel's shift towards more data focused services as most customers are using applications like whatsapp, wechat and skype for communications purposes.
Singtel's latest move is seen as their attempt to stem out the competition posed by MyRepublic's entry into the telecommunications industry. With this latest price war between the telcos, are Singaporean consumers rejoicing? Competition as such would give consumers greater value for the money they pay every month.
Singtel post paid customers can apply for this add on from today (10 March 2016) with a two year contract.
