Finally watched Long Long Time Ago 1 and 2 and it got me crying. Not only it was a real good movie but some of the old time superstition/happenings is occurring to me in real life.
The story where Aileen Tan moved back home for birth and confinement, and her own Brother commented it was "dirty". This mentality is still happening in real life. I'm heavily pregnant and my family chasing me out because confinement is unclean to them. My husband is staying a rental room so how can I do confinement in there? We have no extra Budget to rent a full unit. Now I am lost. Have nowhere to turn to for confinement.
This is to let the young generation know, these topics in the movie are real because it is still happening even though we now all are properly educated. Keep an open mind and heart.
